Sen. Boozman responded to our posts: http://www.facebook.com/notes/john-b...84533904947335

Quote:
Back in June of 2011, I noticed an uptick in posts on my Facebook page from advocates of online poker legislation. From the activity on my Facebook page in the past 24 hours, I can see that it this issue remains a concern to many Americans. I would like to thank you those of you from around the country for sharing your thoughts about this issue with me.

Please allow me to briefly share my views on the issue. I believe that the federal government should have the ability to oversee internet gambling, as it is nearly impossible to regulate, monitor or ensure participants are being fairly treated. As of right now, legislation to oversee internet gambling as not been introduced in the Senate. The bill being referenced in the posts (H.R. 2366) is currently pending in the U.S. House of Representatives. However, please know that should either of these bills or similar legislation come before this chamber, I will keep your thoughts in mind.

I ask that you please leave your comments on this issue on this note out of courtesy to the people of Arkansas with whom I am trying to share updates and hear from on this page. The numerous posts on this issue to my wall make it difficult to find other posts on unrelated matters that are of concern to Arkansans. Thank you for understanding and sharing your views on the issue.

11/5 and 11/7 done!

Maybe everyone that does this can post done or did, or just something to let these hard working people know their efforts are not in vain.

We need to be united, our God given freedoms were taken from us. What's next ?

United we stand, divided we fall. As poker players we should have zero division, we all want our poker playing freedom back. Do not expect a few to make a difference, we ALL need to contribute. Please.

Would be nice to condense our message into fewer tweets, it gets repetitious to send out over a dozen pre-filled tweets.

Thanks for sending them.

Our goal is specifically to generate volume. They may be repetitious to us, but they are not to the recipients, as each received just the ones to them. That's why I don't typically make a bunch of individualized tweets (though I do sometimes tailor them for political party).

If you have a specific thought on this, please post some examples of what you have in mind and we can all discuss.

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee will be holding another hearing on Internet gaming on February 9th, and PPA Board Member and 2+2er Patrick "Skallagrim" Fleming will be testifying! Let's all continue to tell the committee that we want them to support our right to play:
  1. Let's send the Senate Indian Affairs Committee members these NEW tweets: HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.
  2. Let's go to the Senate Indian Affairs Committee members' Facebook walls and like all the pro-poker comments -- and post some new ones: HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.
  3. Sen. Boozman (R-AL) responded on Facebook yesterday to the concerns of the poker enthusiasts who have been sharing their thoughts on the issue on his Facebook wall! Let's all take a moment to thank the senator for responding to our comments: HERE
  4. Let's send a NEW prefilled tweet promoting the daily action plan: HERE
Please reply in this thread with "tweeted", "done", etc. to encourage others to participate. The past 148 actions have generated triple-digit participation, so let's keep it growing. Thanks!

Let's also continue telling the Payroll Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance, and Medicare Physicians Payment Fix Conference Committee to include online poker in their discussions. Hey, people, when you make a comment on a politician's page, you can't FULLY copy and paste or it won't show up for everybody. The "not spam" thing can be avoided. I copy and paste but add a dash before and after my text after I paste. I only found one of mine that was "not spam" instead of "like." I also didn't find any of Rich's that said "not spam" instead of "like" because I think he pastes his remarks and deletes and then adds the first and last character in his text. Either way you do it, it fools facebook into thinking it's a new message.
