I went ahead and posted this in the O8 and stud sections. There's pretty much no action in these games so I figure it's worth a shot to bring some players over.

Count me in for some PLO hi/lo, at or around the $50 or $100 level. However, since you mentioned stud, you may be referring to fixed limit O8.

The Euro games are super soft, the USD are pretty soft but much better than merge. Hopefully once the rake lowers on USD more tables are started and the fish on the Euro tables just hop onto them.

As also mentioned earlier in this thread as well, not all of the Euro sites and players can actually see and access the USD tables as well ... .

Nothing wrong with it I guess. It's just that a configurable script/program would make playing more ergonomic and easy though... which makes me wonder why sites don't implement it in their clients themselves.

Very exciting, perhaps the start of an industry change. I will do my best to get some 10/20 FLHE going

Re: NEWS: Everleaf touches the untouchable - Lowers rake on all US$ tables to a $1 cap Nov1-Dec

Whut I see here is a tiny fishing pond promoting a cheaper fishing license at the local pro shop without an announcement that they're stocking the pond. So whut do you think the likely outcome will be here?

16 boats crammed into the tiny pond, each with 10 fishing lines in the water, strip-mining the network of the few casual players they might have left. Sure, this pond also has casino and sportsbetting so they're likely hoping you'll gambol while you're fishing. But once this promo runs its course and you fishermen pull up and head out, they're going to find less traffic and more cashouts in Dec than they had in Oct.

Has no one bothered to learn the lesson of WSEX? ZERO rake + ZERO advertising = ZERO fish. Gonna grab some popcorn to watch this trainwreck. And with 60+ skins on this network, their average players works out to about 6 players on per skin. Actually, less than this when you look now and see players like IRockDaWorld, HappyOD, xoxoSunshine, InvisibleInk, doctorrr, etc all playing 6+ tables.

I mention this not because I enjoy paying rake (who does?). But I grow weary of networks thinking that rake races, rake rebates and rake holidays help to grow a player base. I'd rather see ANY site on this network's commercial on TV, at a bus station or hell on a flyer on my windshield. Then at least I'd know they're trying to help bring in players. I want to play against players who are fresh off the street. Someone explain how this helps because I'm not seeing it.

I'm amazed it took this long for someone to chime in with the 'but sites need money to advertise to bring in fishes'.

Majority of fishes who would play online already know online poker exists, have given it a shot, got fleeced and lhave moved on. Advertisement isn't going to bring these players back.

At MSNL the sight of 4 sharks patiently sitting out at a table (6max) until a fish sits in is starting to become more and more prevalent It used to be restricted to heads up, now it has spread to all games.

I do not mind playing against a competent player... if the rake is low enough for an edge against that player to be worthwhile. Or low enough so that it doesn't just rake all our money away.

40-65% rakeback with a $1 cap means even if playing against decent players you do not need a huge edge to turn a profit.
Poker needs more winning players and the number of winning players is declining rapidly as the number of fish dry up. I don't even mind if playing against regs doesn't turn a profit, I consider it long run +EV to support a site that promotes lowering the rake anyway.

All else being equal (win rate etc), I'd rather play against competent players with low rake than be forced to get into seat blocking and bumhunt wars with regs fighting over a piece of total fish with sky high rake. One is sustainable, the other depends on a never ending supply of clueless fish.

Different strokes for different folks.

On Nov 1st I will see whats up. I just have a hard time trusting a site that would rob people so viciously. The euro rake is pure robbery. What type of people that even semi care about poker would charge that?
