If someone wants less hassle and everything ready than he can send me a PM and we will get everything done.

Dude, I qualify on everything for your post - but the hefty down payment to be in Malta. However, I CAN go to Malta - its just how it works for me.

But, I don't want to go to Malta (unless those rents are really as cheap as you indicate - towing 3 cats). Those of us on Federal Pension system can transfer anywhere's (Psst, they have all the info on the web site where my income comes from).

Thanks anyway though.

Don't you folks have a financial government problem? Or did that go away? Remember watching CNBC - and some rather unsavory protests in the street.

ETA: we may have the same thing soon

Yes. It appears they want photo ID for just that purpose, and can be any government issue.

It's not clear yet if a rental lease can substitute for the utility bill, but at least one poster wrote of communication to the effect that the foreign bank statement may substitute in addition to being required. IMO it's still a bit messy on the commercial documents, but far better than yesterday.

I am planning on going to Vancouver in early May. Are we able to play on all of the European sites once we establish residency in Canada? Any sites that we are restricted from in Canada?

If you get a Canadian bank account you'll be able to play all of the euro sites, make sure you get a ewallet, and bonus whore where applicable.

Not sure if they are changing the requirements, but all I needed was my bank statement and a copy of my ID. My account was opened in Canada and moved to the states. Now currently trying to reverse that. Beware though, I was told a printout wouldn't work, it needs to have been through the mail service to count.

Yes you're right it was easier in the past. One never actually needed to show Stars a bank account before, to change an address. Stars doesn't have any bank account information from me, other than Neteller. Previously, they asked for nothing additional before sending a small withdrawal (under $200) by paper check. I'll test this again for sure, but giving them time to get back to normal first.

I was required to send a bank statement when I moved from Canada back to the US in 2009.

Seems like the changes they have made haven't made it too hard, provided you're actually in the country you claim. I'm currently looking for a semi-permanent place now, already locked up a temporary place and bank account. I'm considering going back to school in Canada, seems to be an easy option for myself, provided I can grind again. They require you to show you can pay for your schooling and provide room and board for yourself, which is no biggie in and of itself for anyone with an ounce of talent and a shred of money management skills.

Yeah I saw that, was kind of LOL. It's not so hard, but I think most people want to keep their cars and do Canada. That has some challenges apart from the documentation Stars wants. Oh, and you might actually like PartyPoker while you wait.

For those who want to setup an "office" in Canada you could remote desktop your canada computer. You'll still need everything else but no need to cross the border every day.

A whole new level of aggravation for Microsoft updates.

I'm remoting my home PC all the time and it's always available.

A windows update would reboot the PC not shut it down, you can remote it just after the reboot.

You have to configure the router properly so it will reroute your variable ip adress to a dynamic dns service like dyndns.

When I'm not at home I'm remoting my home PC for gambling...that way I dont have to setup anything, no poker room, no anti-virus, no poker tracker. My laptop does ONE thing....remote desktop @ home.

Mine gets stuck while rebooting down if the O/S can't close some task properly. Nothing to do but physically power off/on after that.

I'm up for Canada. Anyway it's time to finally make good on my promise to leave the US back in 2004 if Bush got re-elected. Plus the free health care will be nice as I have this strange rash I can't seem to shake. I assume it's athlete's foot since it looks like athlete's foot and it's on my foot. Can I crash with you guys?

BoDog won't accept Canadian players. (It has never done so.)

No big loss from what most say. But being a Canadian, I wouldn't know.
