can anyone explain how online cash games are so much different than this? I mean for christs sake youve got people on PAD flatting with J6s, reraising with 54s, calling any preflop bet with any two cards, 98o, J10o, doesn't matter what the position or the hand they just want to play...then you've got people just calling preflop raisies with AK when the person raising almost always has like J9o, idiots floating on boards that are obv hitting a lot of the opponents range...etc

well it's tough when you're running into hands everywhere. i wouldn't say he's "getting his ass handed to him" at all. he's done well to keep his composure and not lose more than he has. eli makes trips on him with J6s, raptor flops QQT w/ KQ, doyle makes top pair after an expert limpcall UTG w/ Q8 and check-shoves like a nutcase, he raised AQ pre and ran into cts' AK right behind him (and surprisingly got away), he raises A7s and runs into one of the few AAs we've seen all week and again gets away -- and at that point he was pretty well stuck and it showed a lot of patience to fold

it's not like he's getting outplayed all over the place, the cards have just been unkind to him

Why was Doyle allowed to take $10k off the table? And why would he want to? $170k or $160k doesn't really matter.

I fully agree. Taylor has run quite atrocious thus far, but he's done a good job of controlling the bleeding.

to be fair, it looked like doyle could have died in that session. he obv doesnt care about the money and just wants to play a hand. and i think doyle is annoying.

i honestly think doyle is too impatient anymore to be arsed to make more optimal raise sizes and bets, which is why he's so often just sliding a giant pile of chips out there, going all-in, or otherwise overbetting in spots where it isn't really appropriate

the other thing doyle has going against him is that he's pretty superstitious, believes in hot streaks where you're just destined to win several hands in a row, believes in ESP with regard to feeling or not feeling like a hand will hit, silly crap like that. this sometimes causes him to do dumb things imo

call it blasphemous but i think doyle is a pretty mediocre player at this point

Doyle noticed that in order to beat the nets he has to gamble a lot more, cause they are raising & cbetting with anything. Tight play wont get u anywhere against this kids, hes doing the right thing IMO. Of course he can get trapped now, but at least hes showing he wont be rolled over.
