That would be the quickest way to lose viewers. People will take ads over paying all day. Put a donate link up instead.

It's less about the money and more about your brand. You have such unique content and such a strong brand that you could turn over the raw data to the production company and they could edit out all of the dated /non topical material and produce fabulous content.

If someone was crafty enough they could produce a documentary called the Rise of Fedor with your footage alone.



My favorite part of your podcast is its randomness and the idea that just because it's Monday you aren't forcing content.

Joe, you should use Patreon if you want to monetize. Contributors are charged per piece of content that you put out. I'm sure a bunch of people would contribute a few bucks per show or whatever.

Patreon seems perfect for this, and patrons get free t-shirts and snapchats. Wait But Why, which Fedor mentioned on the pod, makes $13k/month. Here's the Patreon top 50.

Yo Joey! In regards to all this monetization talk - I work directly in this world so happy to give some info:

YouTube still where you can make the most by running ads over your content, but like SrslySirius said, it is getting a bit harder and SOME (not for all content) CPM's are lowering. This depends on a lot of factors, but your demo shouldn't be too bad. Just gotta get those views up! If you want help on VSEO - try a chrome extension vidIQ or TubeBuddy. I can give some best practices if you want to pm me.

Today YT'ers and YT networks aren't relying on just adsense revenue alone though. They also monetize by:

1. Branded Content - Have some patches or shoutouts or collab on a vid with an advertiser.

2. Merch - Sell some GTO Papi shirts bro - use magic links or spreadshirt for affiliate marketing. Just don't sell Triple Range Merge shirts - dudes never even sent me a free one

3. Premium content - Opt in for YouTube Red - or have another subscription model.

For other platforms:

For your type of content Twitch would be the second best right now - their CPMs are awful though - gotta pump that Cheers money (which should be releasing soon)

Facebook Video - Their monetization platform is in Beta right now with select partners. The partners I know say the CPM's are AWFULLLLL. But still you should syndicate your YT vids on FB in the FB player. Do not embed the YT video.

Amazon Video Direct - You can now monetize here as well but there are not a lot of viewers here. Cool integrations if you are doing merch though.

SnapChat - Don't worry about monetizing here for now. This will change though.

Going to be live in about 20-25 mins with Sorel Mizzi. No idea what to expect but it should be interesting. We had this scheduled a couple times in the past but it never ended up happening.

surely sorel wont want to talk about all his past cheating, but there are really too many instances to even remember

Am only 20 minutes in and I appreciate the fact he is discussing it but everything seems to be Sorrel thinks he is above the rules and its others fault for the rules being there he shouldn't be held responsible.
