I thought it was brilliant! Showed that Arya is a fundamentally different person to when we met her in season 1 episode 1. Stone cold killer, but still gets the giggles. Her humour is just much blacker. That whole scene where the hound is asking her what she enjoys and all she can talk about is her various murders... wow

lol obrryn stand over the mountain like that tho. dude was just begging for a leg lock.

"I know what you want"

Sansa, only living person in the entirety of Westeros with power over littlefinger

Did anybody notice Jaime's "Holy ****! This guy is GOOOOD" look on his face during the fight?
06-02-2014 , 08:34 AM
First off, gaahhdaam Missandei! Body so banging she gave Greyworm a phantom dick boner. Can’t say I blame the guy.

That ending was unreal. Going into it my expectation Mountain would crush Oberyn down to his last breath only for Oberyn to come up with a last second win. Of course the exact opposite happens. Either way the fight DELIVERED. Jaime/Tyrion reactions throughout the fight were priceless. Cersei/Tywin putting up the stoneface the whole time was also great. Whole fight scene was A+.

I’m thinking Tyrion survives because like some have said there have been way too many likeable characters dying without fleshing out new ones. No idea how a Tyrion survival would work though. How would it happen, where would he go and what would be his potential storyline going forward? Too many questions might mean they just straight up behead him Neddy style.

#teamSansa

I’m guessing since the Ygritte group is not too far off now the big episode 9 battle will be the 100K Wildings vs the 102 Night’s Watchmen. How can this possibly be anything else but an absolute massacre?

Letting Jorah go seems like such a huge liability. He knows everything about Dany, her army, and her plans. Seemed like the worst possible decision.

I don't think a tie will be declared and if it is I expect it counts for the prosecution. After this episode's ending it would be super lame if the next starts with "oh, look he died, it's a DRAW folks!".

I think the reason the Mountain looked like a fool is because Oberyn is really that good. Though I agree the Mountain looked worthless I don't think Bronn is close to Oberyn level good. Just my guess.

And oh, the stupid love story between Worm and Missandei is forgiven as an excuse for Missandei nudes.

Sansa becoming a badass now?

So what was the significance of the beetle story?

How is episode 9 possibly going to top this? Or are they even going to try?
I think they are. While I thought the fight was great the way they just squeezed into into those last 5 minutes without any build-up it can't be the climax of the season. We still have a wildling attack and a potentially epic aftermath to the fight.

Sansa was hotter as a redhead btw.

I agree totally !

Any else feeling sick in the stomic? Pffff, I already felt like Oberyn was way too confident but didn't expect it to go this way ... Pfff no words.

No double tap on a guy that beastly? Bold strategy cotton, def did not pay off.

Which of the lannisters are on Arya's kill list?

I know joffrey was, and Tywin. I think maybe cersei. What about Tyrion or Jaime? I don't think those 2 are on her list, is that correct?

the more i think about it the more pissed off i am about the TBC resolution. i've never gotten pissed off when they killed someone on a show. closest i got was (wire spoiler)
Spoiler:
omar dying
, but that mostly made me sad. This ****ing pisses me off, because besides how awesome a char he'd been until this ep, his awesome interactions with tyrion, and everyone else really, this ep he pulled off one of the most awesome fights i've seen, then he just gets killed like your average moron super-villian.

Well thank god we'll have more time for Stannis' bull**** arc

My girlfriend is freaking out, she doesn't want the Imp to die. I'm not a biookreader, so I honestly don't know. This author seems able to take it both ways, which is probably the sign of a wicked story teller. Neither outcome would shock me, but obviously rooting for one over the other.

**** man i slept on it and im still not over the death of our sweet prince

+1 for arya's laugh beng hella stupid

Can we also talk a minute about how on point reek/throne acting has been. That guy delivers guy wrenching performances weekly. Last night was no exception
06-02-2014 , 09:49 AM
lol I had the winner of the fight spoiled via a comment on some random ass news article but was still shocked at how exactly it played out.

was Sansa's hair died black? The lighting was kinda bad when she was walking down the steps so it was hard to tell.

Wondering about Arya and the Hound now too. No one at the gates of the Eyrie knows that Sansa is inside, right? So now that Lysa is dead, there has to be a chance that Arya/Hound just turn around and leave?

That doesnt sound right, her cousin Robyn is lord of the Vale and there are wars going on. No way they let a Stark just wonder off.

Completely agreed. There is limited evidence that Bronn is an elite fighter. He barely won the first TbC against an inferior knight. Imagine if his opponent was the Mountain, he would have easily pushed him out the Moon Door.

Bronn admitted his strategy would have been to try and tire out the Mountain, Obery went right at him and was winning pretty handily (with only a few missteps). I think Bronn would have been destroyed by the Mountain.

Agreed, even if he wanted to, no way the guards let him just turn around and take Arya with him.

Great episode except for Arya laughing. she is one of my favourite characters but that laugh is so far from believable. No chance a child that young would ever do that sarcastic "this cant be true" laugh in that situation.
