You would be wrong. My friend had watched every episode at least 20 times by age 30. She's also into Matlock, Columbo and Diagnosis Murder.

Nigerian scammers as a group don't seem to be getting any better at their craft:

Actually, if you go to that picture you should visit XPeru first if he will have you. Arequipa is at about 7,000 feet and adjusts you well for the 11,000ish elevation of Cusco. I flew from sea level to Cusco and felt the altitude effects pretty heavily. And then the train tracks between Cusco and Machu Picchu got washed out two days before I was supposed to go...

Delighted to have you visit Suzzer.

Spare bedroom will be ready and Pisco Sours chilling, just let me know when

Astronaut comes back to earth, does an Ask Me Anything 4 hours later

Some links to beautiful photo albums in there as well:

At one point I'd be top 1% hockey players (lol Canada). Looked it up and only 1.5 million people play world wide and NHL is about 600. There are probably 10 leagues that are fairly elite in so a pretty high estimate would be about 5000 players that are in pro leagues I would never make. I def could have played in the 15th ish best league so I was probably somewhere between .5 and 1% in the world of people who played.

there's some great stuff in there:

What was going through your mind as you were coming back to earth?

(RonGaran) I hope the heat shield and parachutes work

Huh, I was expecting something more like "I was looking forward to seeing my family again" but yeah, that would logically be going through my mind to. Was it a bumpy ride back?

(RonGaran)it was like going over Niagara Falls in a barrel (that's on fire) followed by a high speed crash
03-21-2012 , 01:27 PM
I recall a certain MJCACE that was in WPB recently and mysteriously didn't hit me up to play some of the pools. Now, I'm not saying he was scared, but if it clucks...

Any encounters with strange anomalies/UFO's/etc?

(RonGaran) not that I remember (but I'm told that they may erase your memory)

Wow thanks man. There's a chance I may take you up on that for a day or two. Probably sometime in May. I will check.

Also loved this quote

Would you be willing to accept the enormous risks to travel to Mars?

(RonGaran) Yes for the same reason I accept the risk of flying to the ISS - because it is important for our future (if the dinosaurs had a space program they'd still be here)

found this sick blog on twitter: http://www.deliberatism.com/blog/

not a lot of people know about it, but this guy is a good writer and has some really good posts. here's your chance to get in before it is cool.

my personal favorite of what i've read so far, i've read it like 5 times:

Quote:
Over the course of your life, folks are going to tell you what to do… over and over again. Color within the lines; avoid risk; be a good boy scout.

Some of this will be well intentioned; many think you’ll fare better if you don’t rock the boat. Others are ass-faces who find reassurance in knowing that they’re not the only ones who chose the safe path.

The plan goes like this: study hard, get good grades, attend a respected university, find a decent job, work your way up the ladder, procreate (twice), and upgrade your home every 5 – 10 years. All of which are fine, but this is just one course amongst many.

What if there’s another way?

What if you dropped out of school and walked across the country? What if you decided grades were sort of silly, and instead read all the interesting things you could find? What if you volunteered some time in a developing country and met someone who’d never spent a moment thinking about Chandler and Monica? What if you tasted every taste, saw every sight, faced the things that frightened you, and got a couple of scuffs along the way?

You have one life. Live it as you will, but perhaps take a moment to consider an alternative path. There is a wide chasm between the ways you could pass through existence and the lame-ass lives most choose. Besides, should you fail, you’ll at least have a couple of good stories to tell.

Do whatever you want. I’m not here to prescribe life decisions. At the same time, I feel it’s worth reminding you that within 100 years you, and everyone you love, will be gone. All the **** you’re stressing out about will be long forgotten.

The swarm of convention is a tsunami that absorbs all in its way. You are powerless against it. (Until you decide you are not.)
