It resembles a WPT final table. It's taken over about a third of the Amazon room.

But yeah, SST's and cash are still in the Pavillion. They do the deepstacks and MTT satties where they best fit. I felt slightly baller playing a cheap deepstack in the amazon.

Anyone know the policy if you register for a WSOP event and don't show up?

Can you get your $ back at a later date? Or do you have to unregister before the start?

im pretty sure if you dont show up by the end of late registration they take your chips and you can get your buy in refunded

To answer my own question with a little anecdotal evidence:

Got to STT area just as they were announced a 1k about to start. I said wanted 1k or 500 she waited 2-3 minutes then said I had last seat just as I was taking money out of pocket to by the seat the last guy shows up to what looks like the softest 1k ever( all guys 30+ didn't recognize anyone) Then I get in what looks like the toughest 500 ever 6 out of 9 unshaven guys under 30. Godmode it anyway

doing the math post Black Friday I don't think the 1k starting day will be nearly as big of a difference this year. If I could somehow hold a job that paid enough to be able to take WSOP trips I think I'd play Saturday to have more time to change flights/ play more poker if I busted early. Is like every Euro+ decent chunk of Americans still grinding Sundays this year? Anyone strongly opposed to the idea that it doesnt really matter which day in terms of softness?

nobody is allowed to play in US even if you have residence elsewhere

starting days in a 1k do not matter, table draw is a crap shoot either way

just texted my dad about vegas since I'm trying to go out there and he likes to gamble. Mostly slots, but I've helped him with understanding its a losing proposition--at least if your going to degen, do it correctly on games that maximizes return vs slots (in b4 chainsaw defending video poker w. perks)

Offered 1/2 expenses plus half plane ticket/gas (live in WI), thought it would be a good gesture.

I went from the airport to the car rental place, straight to Walmart before even going to the hotel. I bought twice as much as I used, gave the rest away, and still only spent 7 bucks total.
