Crowd reaction during the whole thing makes it 1000x better too

Do you guys think the Miz knee injury was legit?

No. No way he comes back on a legitimately injured leg there and then gets taken out by Rey slamming his knee into a ladder.

Couldn't tell live but just watching now Cena really ate a hard knee from Punk

Alright, mini TR but it was so awesome some of it was just a blur. If anyone has any questions I or Smarty (or whatever the dude's name was) can chime in as well. Honestly, it sounds like the crowd conveyed itself pretty good on the broadcast, as most of the things I read in this thread were spot on.

-We got there at like 6:45 and there was a dark match (Santino and Kozlov against McGillicutty/Otunga) going on and crowd was already lightning hot. Missed most of the match trying to find our seats but crowd was way over on Santino from what I saw. Didn't see the finish or anything, so not sure how the match was.

-Knew it was going to be a special night in the 10 minutes preceding the PPV. Multiple CM Punk chants and a Colt Cabana chant. Reactions during the promo video were awesome (great video by the way). Punk's first line (Do I have everybody's attention now? or whatever it was) was hit with one of the biggest reactions of the night. Cena's first video appearance was hit with an incredible amount of booing.

-Pyro package was short but awesome. Forgot how loud that stuff is, especially in a smallerish arena like Rosemont. As per usual, crowd is super hot during this stuff, and last night was obviously no exception.

-Good choice opening with SD MITB. Bryan got a huge reaction, as did Rhodes. Nice match that obv. had the crowd's attention in a big way. Two or three completely holy **** spots (Sin Cara dead, Sheamus dead) and some nice work by some of the other guys (I thought Gabriel and Slater were impressive in their limited stuff). Doomsday Device was epic, place was going nuts. Was super surprised to see Bryan going over but crowd ate it up. All in all, the better of the two MITB matches and a great way to open the night.

-Divas Match was just complete aids. I can kind of understand the need for a divas match but someone much better could've filled this time. Crowd hated everything about this, there was actually a pretty audible "Bathroom break" chant from the section next to us. Scrap this **** and give us a nice little 10-minute match from like Ziggler and Ryder or something. Reminds me, if Vicki came out that arena may have melted from the heat she would've gotten. One missed opportunity.

-Show/Henry was somewhat surprising. I didn't have high expectations, crowd was somewhat into it, but I really love the way they booked it. Putting Henry over clean was a nice touch, and then the post-match stuff really validated him as a monster. Could've been worse but again, could've used this time for something a little more entertaining.

-Raw MITB was pretty good though somewhat disappointing. Figured with the lineup that it would be epic/five star facemelter, and though it was a solid match with some insane spots, I just felt like it could've been better. Bourne was awesome as usual (holy Air Bourne spot) and some other really good stuff, but there were some pretty ugly botches (I'm sadly looking at you R-Truth) and some missed opportunities. Why wasn't Truth given a mic for his entrance? Crowd was super over on almost everyone in this match. Miz got a massive pop on his entrance, probably one of the top three of the night. Crowd was also big on A-Ri and ADR. A truly magical moment on the finish, thought there may have been a riot if RMJ would've won. Booked really well even though I can't believe they anticipated the crowd to be that anti-RMJ, seemed like crowd liked everyone in the match but RMJ, which makes me a happy camper.

-Orton/Christian was good but could've been better. Some nice in-ring action and good ring psychology (especially by Christian) but just a turrible turrible ending. Like that Christian is the champ but you gotta book that better. I'm not even against the idea behind the finish but just having Orton randomly spaz out and kick him in the balls is ******ed. If I were booking it I would've had Orton punt him and then get DQ'ed for wailing on him while ref were trying to stop. Nice to see someone reinforced the Spanish Announce Table. Crowd was hot on both but seemed swayed towards Christian. Nice table setter for what everyone was there for: CM mother****ing Punk.

-Main event. I mean, what can I say? The match didn't need to be great, wasn't really that great (at least technically), but goddamn I could sit through something like that forever. It's hard to imagine being in that crowd before you're in it, but christ, it was just amazing. White. Lightning. Magma. Hot. Punk's entrance was one of the loudest things I've ever heard (at points we couldn't even make out his music). Crowd was on Cena hard (whoever said they bumped his music up to drown the crowd out was 100% correct). Love Cena or hate Cena, but he can play up a crowd either way. He was great at ONS '06 and he was great last night. Was hoping the shirt would've been thrown back but ofc Cena throws it right to a guy wearing his shirt. Match wasn't anything super special but there was some nice stuff, but also way too many botches for a title match. We were pretty far away but most of them looked to be on Cena, but I'll have to watch to verify. It was booked great, crowd was super into the near falls/STFUs/etc. Favorite part was all the kids trying to get Cena chants going and instantly being squelched by the majority of the crowd. Really wish I would've looked at shirts, if I knew those were one night only Punk shirts I would definitely own one. Hopefully they'll sell them online or something. Anyways, one of the best 30 minute periods I've ever been a part of. I had high expectations for this match and they were easily exceeded. BTW there was a pretty clear **** You Cena chant for about 30 seconds a few minutes into the match, curious how they handled it on the broadcast.

Other notes:

-Seemed like they were off on time all night. There was a lot of stalling in between matches and stuff was really drawn out. I was curious with the card having six matches how they were going to fill three hours. I'm thinking this is why Cena and Punk were calling everything early on, as they were needed to extend on their feet, which is why I'm thinking there were a ton of rest holds early on.

-I can't say enough about the atmosphere. It was just unreal. When I say it's hard to describe it is the truth. It was an experience I'll never forget.

-WWE production value is just ****ing unreal. From the pyros to the set to everything, I don't think there's a company in the world that is at good as production as WWE. Nearly everything is done with flawless precision. Whoever is in charge of all that stuff really makes the WWE special. It's an experience that you're not going to get with any other form of entertainment.

Anyways, that's all I got. Like I said if anyone has any questions or wants to know anything else, lemme know. I was somewhat disappointed I couldn't participate in the thread but hell, I was there so can't beat that.

Solid TR ajohnson.

More tweets about last night:
* Chris Jericho: Heard MITB ppv was excellent and Punk-Cena was off the charts. Glad to hear! What a great time to be a WWE fan. Sit back and enjoy this guys! As great as Punk was and is during the whole angle, don't discount Cenas work in all this. Contrary to what some say Cena is a GREAT worker".

* Bret Hart: "Very good PPV tonight w/everyone working hard. Great storytelling in the main event & throughout the show. Kudos to everybody"

* Matt Hardy: "heard there was a helluva wrestling show on tonight. Very happy to hear the people were given what they want-it's good for business."

WWE literally gave all the people on the internet exactly what they wanted last night, with Bryan, Del-Rio, Christian, and Punk winning. I honestly thing last night is the start of a new era in WWE.

oh question for the TR:

Were you guys aware that Christian spat in ortons face to set him off?

If not I bet it seemed really really weird

The Redbull in the fridge is interesting. I wonder if that is an intentional dig. Punk has gotten criticised in the past for using caffeine as most straight edge peeps consider it a drug like any other.

He shudda bought a bunch more pepsi though.

Gonna d/l the show and give it another watch before Raw. TY for the trip report and that article about how it was the smark's night was spot on.

I still think ADR was too over to need the briefcase, he is already number one contender and won MITB to main event WM this year, but the only thing i truly disagree with on that PPV is the divas match cos diva gonna diva.

Orton did a pretty good job of selling the spit, it was pretty clear what had happened from my vantage point. Crowd was going absolutely nuts for the RKO's on the announce table.

We will find out tonight.

Id prob bet against it being a new era in the classic sense, but i can see a great title reign from Punk happening and Bryan getting built and going over would be a milestone in the company imo.

Oh and i forgot to say its ridiculously funny that Sin Cara had a wellness violation.

I think the timing is a bit curious on the wellness policy issue because they obv tried to bury him last night, he sold that amazingly btw. Plus the name issues they are having with him.

I wouldn't be surprised if punk bought a six pack of beer and put it in the fridge to celebrate though

Yeah, it was definitely noticeable.

I'm not 100% certain what the crowd was chanting at Orton as he was talking out, was it clear on the broadcast? Several people in our area couldn't figure it out, I thought it was "one more time" but others thought it was "whoop his ass"???

Anyways, I'm thinking Orton coming back was done completely on the fly based on the input of the crowd. Just his demeanor when he came back (throwing his arms in the air like "well, I gotta do this") made it seem that way.

Yup, it was very easy to tell that Christian spit on Orton even from the cheap seats.

They never said the dark match was non-title so that was kinda weird with the champs losing.

I thought Bryan and Rhodes' pops were both underwhelming.

I went to the restroom during the Divas match and we were joking about how we expected more people to be in the bathroom as well.

Also, I didn't hear any F You Cena chants but I was way high up.

From up where I was, it definitely sounded like "one more time" which would be congruent with what followed...I think it was on the fly as well.

I love the idea that people have so little going on in their life that they can get worked up over someone else's caffeine use.

Yeah I was super high, actually the highest row of seats in the upper level, but they were still damn good seats and it was A+ because we could stand whenever we wanted (actually stood the back half of the show, those seats are F small and we were packed in there bad).

I would've been to the right of the entrance ramp, section 204. For $25 + ticketmaster bs fees the seats were great. I can't believe that place hosted a Wrestlemania. Seems crazy small for an event that big.
