Just rewatched both MITB matches and the main event. Got ****ing chills again when Punk won.

You can clearly see that the ladder Sin Cara is killed with was wood painted silver.

The crowd during Miz's return, Mysterio climbing the ladder, ADR winning was ****ing great.

I like how they gave Punk a ton of time before Cena came out. Part of that I'm sure is due to the fact that they were running short. When Punk won and they kept showing Vince's reaction there are 3 little kids along the barricade who look like they just found out Santa isn't real.

You know, technically, if Punk's going to the Cubs game, he hasn't left Chicago with the title yet, so Cena's still okay...

maybe he could give him an attitude adjustment out of the press box onto the netting behind home plate. The fans at Wrigley deserve something entertaining.

Yeah, OK, Cena's getting like two weeks off before something happens which will be totally lame.

BTW, can't believe I forgot this part. Did see a little kid decked to the nines in Cenation **** bawling his eyes out while leaving. Really affirmed how awesome the show was, even though I felt a little bit bad for the kid.

And this, dear readers, is both why Cena makes the big bucks, and why it's highly unlikely that he'll ever turn even a little bit heelish, at least until there's someone new for the eight year olds to weep over (and right now, there isn't).

And FWIW, this may be personal bias, but after watching that video I think last night's crowd was better than ONS. Not quite as creating, but comparing 14-15k to 4k and having the same level of molten magma heat in the crowd is just amazing.

This totally enforces what an important part the fans play in the quality of the product. Last night was a perfect example of an epic, self-reinforcing feedback loop where the performers feed on the fans and vice versa. I think everyone would acknowledge that while the buildup and the show were excellent, on its own it's at best a serviceable experience without that white-phosphorus, napalm-scalding hot crowd.

Also rewatched Cena's entrance. The collective, thunderous boos were so, so f'n amazing.

I didn't like the fact cena left the ring to confront Vince other than that awesome match Awesome crowd

Yeah Cena's entrance was good too. The massive boos, no salute, no run to the ring, head down holding the belt in the air.

Just watched the entire PPV again. That paragraph at the end of Best and Worst summed it up. I'm incredibly proud to be a wrestling fan right now.

Having said that, something weird happened tonight. I live with work colleagues (work for a charity, we have to live together) and me and a buddy were watching the PPV tonight in the living room. Hungarian girl who works/lives with us asks why we're not watching something that everyone wants to watch rather than just us - we reply that no-one was using the screen anyway and go ahead watching the PPV.

Our boss, a girl from Romania, had never watched wrestling before but she was there for the first match and didn't seem to mind it (was impressed by the athleticism, thought some of the guys were hot, whatever, etc), but after like 20mins of sitting there the other girl goes "Guys, you are stupid, this is totally stupid. I believe that a person can just have their health and be happy, and..." and then pretty much storms out and doesn't come back down.

Can anyone offer any insight into how someone might be so offended by wrestling?!? I was totally stumped. It's obvious she's a little judgemental and humourless but I was honestly just sitting there for like 10 minutes afterwards trying to work out how someone could react so negatively. WWE airs on TV in Hungary so it's not like it's culturally incompatible or something. :S

Cena: no, no. It says it in my contract for last night's match, I'm fired, I get it.

Here's some tidbits from Dave Meltzer's wrestling observer radio show regarding last night's MITB.

- that was not the original finish to the Punk/Cena match when it was first laid out

- during the Christian/Orton match, Vince was livid and ordered the guys to go back there and break the table lol

- Meltzer ripped Booker T a new one as he called the announcing team "thumbtacks in the eyeball" with regards to their announcing

- Vince told the announcers through the headset to make no mention of Orton being booed by the Chicago crowd

- Meltzer called this PPV maybe the best WWE/WWF PPV of all time

- Punk is returning as a face in the future in WWE and will be up there with Cena and a lesser extent Orton as the company's biggest star

- He believes that Daniel Bryan will not be the first to cash it in and lose, he thinks that the first person to do so should be a heel and ADR should not be that guy.

I can't remember the last time that I've looked forward to Raw this much. It might have to be the day that Bret Hart returned to Raw for the first time going head to head with Hogan on TNA.
