Did you happen to see who the dealer was?

I think we may be looking at 40-50 table room when it finally tops out.
I hope that's true, it would at least open up the possibility of getting some more limit games, maybe even mixed, in there too.

The number of table isn't the issue- it's interest. Sands will spread any game if you have the players.

Midas,

Sands will spread NLHE, 08, NLO, Stud, or Stud8. They are not allowed to spread razz. They will not deal any pot limit games. Room manager told me we could play HOSE, tried to push for it last two weekends, but not enough people at 08 were interested in it. He does not have placards for hose game yet, but he told me they would just switch placard for each dealer change. I would like to play a HOSE 10/20. Does anyone else know what happened with dealer escorted out? Curious to see what happened. 90% of dealers at Sands are real good guys/girls, 10% are really just miserable. It is like day and night when a miserable one comes to table, brings whole table mood down.

Agreed - I actually knew that and that all games have to be preapproved by the gaming commission. The other night they barely got a new 3-6 limit game going. I would love to play a 5-10/6-12 LHE game but there isn't any interest.

I hope the dealer who got escorted out didn't go postal from a player issue. There are a few regs who would drive me nuts if I had to deal to them.

Has any Stud game ever run at the Sands? I don't think I have ever even seen a list for Stud or Stud8 at the Sands.

Shortly after the expansion opened up, I want to say sometime towards middle of March I had Dave start a 6/12 LHE interest list and within 45 minutes the game was called. 6/12 holds a special place in my heart as it's one of the first games I played in AC after turning 21. I grew really tired of that particular game though and only played for about an hour (it was a full table with more on the wait list) before going back to 1/2 NL. The particular table I had sat at was being played in the same way a 3/6 LHE game was, that's to say, 6-8 people were seeing the river card. I know some love the on-going draw of 3/6 and will continue to play it for hours for the sake of enjoying the game, but it's not my thing.

I'm not against playing 6/12 or possibly playing 10/20 LHE, but the interest hasn't been there, nor have I. Only playing twice in the last 3ish months.

All I can say is, ask for an interest list to start. If the tables aren't 100% full and there aren't 50 people on the 1/2NL tables, as for an interest list and ask the floor to announce that it's been made. Talk with the people at the table you're currently playing at and ask if they'd be interested.

Stud8 has gone off at Sands 3 times that I know of. All 3 times it started as O8 and all the players switched it over to Stud8. It never started of an interest list. I played in the Stud8 game all three times and it did not run real long any session. I have never seen Stud go off nor have I ever seen a interest list for it.

What a tease, as of 7PM there is 6 people on O8 list. Espo and other enthusiasts that I know on here, get in here and lets get it going. We need one or two others at the most to get it open. There are tables and dealers open all we need is another 1 or 2 O8 soldiers, lol.

After not visiting the Sands for some months, I've played there three times over the last two weeks and have been surprised at how fast and sloppy the dealers have gotten pitching the cards and how much they have been pushing players to move the games along. It's a noticeable change from before and faster than any games in a any casino I've ever played at. Almost all of the dealers I observed were extremely quick to motion to and/or say something to players when the action was on them. For example, player 1 bets $20 and the dealer IMMEDIATELY says something like "the bet is 20 action is on you," and motion to the next to act. They were doing this to all the players, not just me.

Is this something the regulars asked for? Or is it something management is doing to increase rake? Or are the dealers doing this on their own, possibly to increase the number of hands they deal and tips?

No clue but I think it's a good thing. Keeps the game moving, keeps players attentive and all around a better experience.

I was there last week and didn't notice a change. They do track hands dealt by the dealers. There seem to be dealers who are slower than others and really haven't improved over time. Maybe the slower guys got a kick in the butt to improve.

One dealer told the table that hands dealt per 1/2 hour are tracked. His average was 16 (32/hr), but indicated the fastest was a female who had a 22 avg (44/hr). Found that hard to believe, as most should be in the 30-35 range.

I definitely believe what dealer said about the fast female dealer. She is an attractive 30ish asian woman that deals like a tornado. I play there often and only ever had her deal me like 3-4 times, but as soon as you see the cards come out crazy quick and look up it is her. It is almost as though you are watching one of those tennis ball machines the way she deals, it is very impressive. If she deals you, you will know it right away.

Played Saturday and noticed this as well. I was in seat 1. If I waited to look at my cards until the action was one me, the dealer would let me know . . . also, god forbid I thought, like, 5 seconds, the dealer reminded that the action was on me. Thanks. At the time, I did not think much of it . . . but now that you mention it . . .

By the way . . . the action at $1/2 rivaled Charles Town. One hand, I called $10 pre flop with 33 in position. We went three to the flop, and I hit bottom set on a 3, 6, K board (two hearts) . . . Original raiser lead out on the flop for $25. I re-raised to $65. He tanks and re-pops to $125. I call . . . Turn blanks and he bets $100. I'm starting to feel sick, but I call . . . River is a 4 of hearts putting both the flush and str8t out there. Dude checks it to me.... I value bet my set and he snap calls . . . with AK. Solid.

Personally, I like that dealers are trying to keep a healthy pace. This is a positive imo.

It doesn't really matter the best hand will win 100% of the time with all the money that is already in the middle ...It was not the play that made me laugh it was the that you felt sick on a good turn and then value bet a bad river.
