Hey, I use to play micro and small stakes 6 max online. I took a break from poker for numerous reasons, one of them being black friday. Recently I started to play 1/2NL at the Oaks. I was wondering if there were any other bay area players around who would wanna play/do book study's/exchange HHs. I just ordered PNL I last week if anyone wants to do a book study PM me or post ITT.

hes soooooooooooo bad (bob the td at luckys) awful structures ridic bad payouts, "rolling back the blinds at the final table"
generally unhelpful attitude
ugh

No PLO ran on 2/19/13 (3/5 or 5/10). Supposedly it ran last Tuesday for a short while before table got short and then petered out.

We'll see if catches on to be a regular thing. I'm just not sure the player pool is big enough for it to be sustainable, and the casino doesn't seem to be pushing it that hard.

so it's obviously been mentioned separately many times in this thread, but could someone offer a comparison of 2-3-5 at m8trix/bay101? I'm starting to play again and don't really remember bay at all and I've only played 235 at m8trix once.

probably focused on the 100/200-500, not the deep unless it's especially noteworthy.

its random
im there alot playing nl cash and see it running sporadically
a game will come together, run for a bit then players will bust and the regs there dont like playing short handed so theyll sit out and the game will die
(what ive seen)

I never likes LC as a pokerroom.

They cater primarily to low limit jackpot hunters. There is always a drop even without a flop. The jackpot drop is guaranteed to be two with at least twenty in the pot. There's no lhe above 6-12. The 101020 has been dying for a while and has migrated to the matrix.

I suppose it is what it is. Aces cracked, rack attack, double jackpot, other various promos, even a frequent player program that pays 50 cents an hour.

I was always a purist though. I'd like cardrooms that support any game you can name, any amount you can count. This is clearly not LC.

If I had it my way LC would run more like the grand where the floor and management appear to try harder to be fair and progressive. Imo LC always reacts and never acts.

If san Jose ever legalized a bb jackpot, LC would probably lose a lot of customers.

I assume your comment is in reference to the aforementioned floor problems at LC because I would not characterize the management of the Grand as "progressive".

A schizy, hypocritical attitude towards gambling and gambling revenue turns out to be good for something after all.

I like the phrase "appear to try harder."

The 101 in Petaluma is running a second round of WSOPME qualifiers. I will pass along days and times if anyone is interested.

Appearances go a long way especially when your customers are addicts who frequent your locale everyday or someone who comes by every now and then.

My comments on LC are a reflection of the NVG thread on Doug Dalton being fired as pokerroom manager from the Bellagio. Ironic the only sympathetic comments are about the cafe a walk away. A poker room is a reflection of management. It is interesting why B has fallen in popularity compared to Wynn and Aria

I'd like to see a comparison of small-stakes NLHE at these two casinos too.

The 2-3-5 at the M8trix seem more aggressive than comparable games I've played in elsewhere, but I haven't played too much there.

If it hasn't been answered in the past, chances are nobody wants to answer it, not that nobody's gotten around to it.

- There may be an answer so obvious (e.g., one stopped spreading it) that nobody feels the need to point it out.

- The player pools may be so small that people don't want to give away secrets.

- There may just be no significant difference between them.

I've never played 2/3/5 but I can't imagine that there'd be so much difference between two casinos within sight of each other that there'd be a long-term significant difference between them.

Any o8 in the bay area? I'm moving here in 2 weeks. Will play any limit.

Most places have a 4/8 LO8 game with a 1/2 kill - Bay, Oaks, Cal Grand all do for sure. I think AJs does too. Maybe not LC or M8trix.

Oaks has 6/12, 1/3 kill on Thu-Fri.

Bay or M8 has a 10/20 or 20/40 that goes some times (perhaps regularly).

Bay has a 4/8 and 10/20 LO8. The 4/8 goes every day, i think the 10/20 does too but not totally sure (it runs a lot though). Both games play with a half kill.

Does the 20/40 O/8 ever run at Bay anymore?

Biggest LO8 in the bay area is a 10/20 hk at Bay101 which will go most weekdays for a few hours+ in the afternoon/evening. It's been running for a month or two now. Nothing bigger.

Livermore Casino runs a LO8 H/L most of the time. I think their highest takes are 4/8 with a Kill. Haven't seen it go any higher, but Livermore Casino rarely has any game higher than that (not sure if it is a legal thing in Livermore or nobody wants to play it).

The only people every playing that game are the old timers and the dirty degens that haven't showered in days (although lets face it, aside from a few Younger guys that show up, that is 95% of the people at Livermore Casino).

Profitable game if you know the basics and know how to exploit average players...
