2/5 no limit in general is hit or miss on a Thursday afternoon regardless of which SacTown card room you frequent (i.e. Capitol, Stones, or Thunder)

Limit games (4-8 hold'em, 4-8 Omaha) are the two regular games at Capitol that tend to run around the clock. 1-3 no limit generally starts at noon each day as 10am (turbo) tourney players bust out.

Stones is almost 100% no limit, with 1-2 and 1-3 games being fed by 10am (deep stack) tourney bust outs starting around noon. The 1-2 games are generally bad before 5pm with nitty regulars.

I would NOT bother going to Thunder for no limit except for Friday and Saturday nights. The 1-3 games at Thunder are usually bad on weekdays.

A handful of visiting NBA players used to go to Capitol to play 2-5 no lmit to kill time before a game against the Kings. Don't know if the opening of Stones will have any impact.

Does anyone have an update on the Stones App/Bravo situation?

I am working so hard to make this happen right now! No promises but be patient. It's being considered.

Stones will run a "nits nightmare" bounty tournament on Halloween night (Friday October 31) at 5:30pm:

$100 buy-in ($60 to prize pool, $25 bounty, $7.50 house fee, $7.50 dealer fee)
10000 chips
2000 chips bonus to players dressed in costumes (no masks allowed)
20 minute levels
unlimited rebuys during levels 1-4

After the last hand of each level prior to playing down to 36 players, the player with the shortest stack will be eliminated and his chips and bounty will go in the middle and be part of the pot for the 1st hand of the next level.

(That should result in lots of all-in's with crazy hands at the end of each level.)

6-handed tables once tourney is down to 36 players

Once the 10-handed final table is reached, tournament chips will be converted to CASH based on chip count

Final table will be a cash game, with $5-5 blinds.

At the final table, the shortest stack has the option to cash out immediately prior to the start of the next hand. If two players are tied for the shortest stack, no one can cash out.

I'd love to play in it too but I'll be at the WSOP circuit event at Harvey's that weekend.

Is this going to be "rebuy" or "reentry" ?

It's re-entry only. No re-buys.

Can't help you there but once you get in, here's a helpful tip. Pay attention to the cards that are hitting on the flop often and play those becAuse obviously they're coming.

I do the other method. I play cards that haven't hit I awhile because they're due to hit.

When there is an interest list for x/y blinds with enough or almost enough players to start game and players on a a/b blind game decide they're willing to convert to x/y blinds, should this procedure be allowed?

This has been happening quite a bit around town lately and it's really frustrating. You wouldn't even be starting the game or offering a conversion if not for the people on the interest list.

"Protecting seated players" is a terrible concept when talking about games at 2 different limits.

Ive heard of this happening and hate the idea of it. When opening a new limit game people on the list should get first priority.

in all seriousness though, GreenMile is 100% spot on. Kind of a stupid rule imo. It isn't like that in San Jose or LA

It happened yesterday at stones too. 2nd game started quickly thereafter and they were well intentioned I'm sure but it's a terrible precedent.

This has to end. Thunder is notorious for doing this and it screws over the people on the list for the bigger game that aren't currently seated in the converted game.

Stones has been dojng this right? I absolutely hate the way they convert instead of starting a new table, it's really bad
