Saturday's tournament had a decent overlay. It was 155+20 10k guarantee and had 49 runners. Reentries through level 8 (30 minute levels)

25k chips too

I busted in 24th about 6 hours and 10 minutes into it. It paid 7. So yes it was disappointing for me, but it was great value and very well run

Raye,

The Bravo app doesn't say that the Tuesday and Thursday 11:30 tournament has guarantees. The calendar on Facebook does. I am assuming that more people get their info from Bravo than Facebook, so you might want to update that.

I love the overlays, but I don't want to see you cancel the tournaments because of them.

Raye, Another question...

Tuesdays tournament had 18 entries and 5 got paid.

Today's tournament has 27 entries and 3 are getting paid.

Was one of these a mistake, and if not, can you please explain why this would be?

Probably depends if there's a guarantee

Both were guarantees and both had overlays

Tuesday 1k guarantee. 18 runners $50 buy in $33 + $7 + $10 bounty... 5 got paid

Thursday 2k guarantee 27 entries $65 + $10, no bounty. 3 got paid.

Great question. In the case of an overlay in our guaranteed tournaments, we pay out the prize pool as if enough players had entered to make the guarantee.

On Tuesday's event, with a $1,000 guarantee, we need 35 players to enter to make our guarantee. The amount from the buy in that goes to the prize pool is $29.

On Thursday's event, with a $2,000 guarantee, we need 34 players to make our guarantee. The amount from the buy in that goes into the prize pool is $60.

Our prize pay out structure jumps to 5 players from 3 players once there are 35 players.
I hope this answers your question.

Ok, I've only played in a few tourneys but I always thought that if a tourney buy-in is $65+$10 that $65 goes into the prize pool and $10 is the casino's take. If only $60 goes into prize pool, what happens to the other $5? Does that go to the dealers? The few tourneys I've played in AC, there's been an option to buy extra chips for an extra $5

So was thinking of playing the 100k next wk. But my family member works at sugarhouse he was a dealer but he's not no more i think moved into one of the assistant or manager roles in the poker room. Is there anything preventing from playing this event? In no way shape or form have we ever colluded or anything like that as i play mostly online and cash games at parx. But Im curious would there be a problem if i played in the tournament.

Asterix811 - Thank-you for the question. On our daily tournaments, we do take $3-$5 from the prize pool for our tournament dealers. None of our tournaments feature a dealer add on at this time. When we opened we presented the buy-in+entryfee+dealerfee format on the tournament calendar and the feedback was the players didn't like it. Some rooms take out a percentage for the dealer fee out of the buy-in, some players are accustomed to having a dealer's percentage or fee combined with the buy-in. As always, we listen to our player's opinions and try to please the majority. Raye

Raye,

I generally love everything you guys do, but the satellite tonight is horrendous. 12 minute levels, and a short stack. 36 minutes into the tourney and someone with their starting stack is down to 20 BB's.

You guys are usually so much better than that.

Raye,

I'm sure you've already heard some complaints about the Wi-Fi in the room. It used to work fine but over the past couple of months or so has become completely useless. This has become more of an inconvenience than anything else. I actually turn Wi-Fi off on my phone when I get to the poker room. A lot of nights I end up forgetting to turn it back on when I return home and burn through data.

I would simply ask that you either fix the Wi-Fi so that it works again, or get rid of it altogether. Advertising free Wi-Fi that doesn't work at all when connected to the network just makes an inconvenient situation for your customers.

Thanks.

What's a typical turnout for the $75 (55+10+10) Saturday midnight madness turbo?

I see from the website that there are 12 minute levels & you start with a 12k stack; I'm curious what the first few levels are like. Start at something like 50/100 then 100/200? At what level is the big blind 1k?

(Thanks for the responses!)

3 questions...

1) what's the cap on the 2-5 game?

2) what's the rake?

3) what are the lodging options nearby and is there a poker rate?

Thanks,

Larry

Raye, along with the wifi, about 10% of the chargers actually work. It would be better if you just have usb cords & let ppl being chsrgers to plug in than to have all these that dont work

JoeyBlaze - Thank-you for your post. We have been having problems with our Wifi and have brought in an IT consultant to find out what we can do. We have been told that Wifi will be completely functional in the new room. Unfortunately that does not help us now. I do apologize for your inconvenience and you are right about advertising the free Wi-Fi when it's not functioning properly. Please know we are working on it and I push everyday to get back to normal. Please feel free to email me directly at Rayeramsey@sugarhousecasino.com as well.

metsandfinsfan - Thank-you for the post. Here's the update on the chargers. We upgraded the chargers we initially purchased for the poker tables because (believe it or not) they were more problematic than the ones we have now. We started to convert all the tables to a USB port. The chargers were too easily broken. Raye

Thank-you ACtoLV. I will pass the feedback on to our tournament staff. We know you play frequently. Raye

I don't often buy 3 dollar shots of Fiji water, but when I do, I always get my comps activated first!

It is a pain to continuously go to the desk to get comps fixed/updated.
