Had a chance to check the room out this weekend. Overall I was impressed. Valet service was great. Very conveniently located and eliminates most of the risk of walking through the parking lot. The room itself is comfortable and has a nice vibe. Only complaints about the room itself would be the lack of restrooms and the charging boxes. While the chargers are an excellent idea, the execution is a bit off imo. The cables are way too short and the boxes are a bit in the way but the convenience is worth those two issues.

My biggest issue was with dealers. I understand that with any new room that has new dealers there will be a period of time where things won't run perfectly. However a few of the dealers I saw were seriously attrocious. It seemed like a common point of misunderstanding for the dealers was missed blinds, single big blinds, and posting/buying the button. I saw several situations where it should have been one big blind but the dealer didn't understand and just skipped over a player. I spoke up once but got shot down and the other players didn't seem to care about it so I let it go. Raye, this may be something you want to reinforce with your new dealers.

Other than those issues the staff was great. Nice to see a lot of recognizable faces from established poker rooms. The action was also excellent. 2/5 played super deep and the average pot was well over $100. The 1/2 & 1/3 games I'm sure are equally as juicy. I'm definitely looking forward to playing here more when in the area.

No hotels on the property or very close by, but this casino is maybe 1mi from center city and plenty of options. There's also a shuttle bus that goes through CC.

Raye,

I haven't been in a couple of weeks... are you now dropping an extra dollar to cover this or is it purely SugarHouse funded? If it's the latter I will be very, very impressed.

Asterox811 - You are right. More like a turbo. 20 minutes might be better suited. Raye

2. Admin fees are very high percentage of buyin. Raise buyin $10-15 and keep fees as is IMO. Would not lose players because of price increase.
3. Would be nice to see PLO or mix tourneys.
4. Your Saturday noon tourney should have 30 min levels for $230. The other room in Bensalem runs one same time with 30 min levels
5. Less chips the better in turbo structures. Deeper later in tourney that way

Having said all of this, I do understand that these are just dailies. I would prefer the room to get a good rep tourney wise from beginning.

Love the room fwiw
gergdon8 - Thank you for the feedback. I'm working on the tournament schedule for January and will make the changes. Raye

This is great news. If it stays this way you have a chance to draw a bunch of rec players from other local rooms.

Raye,
Played in Thursday tournament and ended up 6th just out of money. I think they will get bigger as time goes by. Few things, I had to tell a dealer about a chopped pot(wasn't in hand but was paying attention to board) that was going to be awarded to one player. A few times had to remind a diff dealer to give change for a small blind not played.
These little mistakes can be the reason some players won't come. These issues can be easily fixed though.

Why promote the charging ports at the table if none of them work? Such a needle.

I was disappointed to hear tonight that the high hand includes PLO up against NLHE... So basically, it's going to be a big longshot to win in a hold em game if a couple tables of PLO are running. That said, with this promo completely casino funded, it's not nearly as big of a deal and maybe they want to get PLO running regularly.

I had one dealer who made a few mistakes tonight and was cutting chips out two at a time instead of in fives, which I've never seen a dealer do. Most of the dealers who were slow seem to have improved, though... so good job with that. I heard they keep track of hands per hour and have a chart for all the dealers which will hopefully push the slow ones to work on improving.

Also I'm not sure if it's new or I hadn't noticed but the valet kiosk by the cage is a great placement. I scanned my ticket, cashed out, walked outside and my car was waiting. Can't beat that!

Raye one question I have is about the rule that you can't transfer to a new game for 30 minutes. I get the purpose of it, but when a new 1/3 opened and I couldn't transfer from my 1/3 for 30 minutes but others could transfer from 1/2, it was frustrating. Can you consider a change there?

I personally wish you'd kill 1/2 NL and just spread 1/3 but I assume that's not going to be in the cards any time soon... But if I'm in a bad 1/3 game now and I see several names on the list I'm actually better off switching to 1/2 and getting on the 1/3 list to get into the new game sooner... But that's obviously bad for the room and the stability of the games running.

If the transfer isn't going to leave a game in danger of breaking, in my opinion you should allow transfers into new games. It rewards the players who keep the games going even when they can't table select, and that's good for the room, assuming you'd rather have as many 1/3 and 2/5 games going as possible.

That is awesome. I wish I could make it up to take advantage. You almost never see promotions like that for omaha players. It's good to see Sugar House continuing to distinguish itself from the competition.
