You shouldn't have to worry about a long wait list. All that talk was about a big promo they did last Sunday for their anniversary. Most days not a problem.

Hotel not that fancy. Leave the $20 in your pocket.

I am going to MGM National Harbor for the first time this coming weekend. Can you call ahead to get put on the wait list? I tried to research this, but got conflicting information on other sites. My apologies if this has already been answered. One other question: I play full time, usually 5/5 PLO or 5/10 NLHE and have spent the last 8 months playing in FL (Jacksonville and Hollywood). How would you say the action is at mid-higher stakes games in MGM NH? Specifically the 2/5, 5/10 and PLO I see running on Bravo. I have watched Bravo the last few weeks and it seems like 1/3 is the majority of what the room runs? Thanks!

You can call in and be put on the wait list for time-raked games (nl 5/10+ and plo 5/5+).

5/10 is on life support. 2/5 is always somewhere between ok to great. The 5/5 bingo game continues forever. There is no 4 card, only 5.

Yes, can call ahead for time-raked games.

Even though it has been declining recently in game quality, 2/5 is probably still your best bet (although the 1/3 with a $500 cap can be more profitable at the right deep tables). 5/10 only if some older dudes are in the line up. Most of the younger players are pros.

5-5 5-card PLO is actually a 5-5-X game with a mandatory UTG straddle of $15-$25, so be prepared for a big/swingy game involving deep pockets willing to gamble. The lower-stake 5-card PLO can be good too, but game quality varies tremendously. Some are extremely nutpeddling/nitty, others wild.

Thanks for the replies. I kind of figured the 5/10 was on life support, that’s how it is everywhere these days it seems. I will check out 2/5, the Omaha sounds like it could have potential though. That’s my preference usually all things considered just because games are so soft compared to Hold’Em these days.

Action has dried up considerably the last few months. 2/5 game break on the regular which never used to happen and 5/T is barely running half the week nowadays. Rumor is most of upper management is on the way out. Definitely much better places to move to to play professionally right now. I can't figure out why the South Americans haven't tried Austin, Houston, or Boston yet.

good then we can take the salary of those that are on the way out to fix the bathrooms, change more of the nasty felts (one of the upper tables, i think 41, the felt is so awful), add a comp kiosk, and improve these meaningless $100 table promotions), etc....

Any recommendations for vegetarian dishes?

For some reason, MGM moved the build-your-own salad place Fresh to the deli (operating hours are random and unknown) and significantly reduced unique ingredients by ~50%.

So far, my go-tos are mainly:
Saigon
-Veggie pho (beef broth though lol)
-Veggie fried rice
-Veggie spring rolls
Bento
-Tofu poke bowl

Taco place has a veggie burrito bowl. Ginger has two vegetarian tofu dishes that are ok and veggie fried spring rolls.

The men's bathroom by the poker room is in a sorry state once again. Two of the three sinks do not dispense water well, and one urinal is out of order. Last night (a Thursday, hardly a peak time of the week) almost all of the soap dispensers were empty and only one of the two paper towel dispensers worked. The other night the bathrooms came up in conversation at the poker table (lol) and another player mentioned that there have been literally puddles of urine by the urinals. Gross.

I will be going to MD Live for a while to express my displeasure and I encourage others to do the same.

The bathrooms at MD Live are always pristine, functional (plenty of stalls and urinals), and even have candy and tip containers by the sinks. Makes sense to me!

Last session I played I had to go downstairs to the bathroom bc of puddles at all the urinals and the only available stall. Was late night weekend.

I've been taking my business up the road for the last few sessions. I dont know what the construction is there - new music venue someone said? - but they certainly seem to be putting a lot of work into the place. Nope, the additional drive isnt great but its nice that you dont have to stand in piss during a late night bathroom run.

Unfortunately 5 card seems to have infected ML as well but the 2/5 games have been great and I will keep trying to bring 4 card back.

The last time I was at MGM there was talk outside the bathroom of taking pics of the disgusting puddles and tweeting them out - thankfully they decided that taking pics in the bathroom probably wasnt the way to go.

Jacked up the prices as well. You now have to pay extra for any meat in your salad.
