Totally stinks - And exacerbated by the BBJ being fairly large unless it's been hit very recently.

Made the trek out to Live! This place really is overrated in my opinion but at least they have dealers.

The reason is they don’t want to deal tournaments because they get no tips.

This place is so poorly managed it’s not even funny. I’m over at Live and all the MGM regs are here today and I have a feeling many of them will make Live their new home

Sarcasm doesn’t translate well here. Apologies if it was taken any other way than the fact that it’s ludicrous we are even having this issue....

It's ludicrous that you don't think you screwed up. How did dozens of your dealers forsee this issue and you didn't?

Is it more ludicrous that MGM did nothing to advertise this? I guess - as always - the lack of communication is my biggest complaint.

If its such a big event that it clears out your dealer ranks, causes them to basically pre-announce they would be cutting work because they dont like how they aren't paid (allegedly, I have no idea) and then leaves hundreds of people on the list - maybe tell people about it?

Honest to god its small things like this that drive people crazy Johnny. And I know you dont care, I know you dont *have* to care. You would much rather just troll people here now, your room is full, you dont have to care. Fine. I get it. But I follow both MGM NH Twitter accounts and didnt see one single mention of this event. And the thing is, whoever runs your social media account does a great job of providing tournament updates. There were multiple/daily updates on the Winter Poker Open and not ONE on this *that I remember*.

"Just a reminder guys, massive Chance for Life charity poker tournament tomorrow, please expect longer than usual waits for cash games while the tournament is running. Dealer backups will be arriving at 4p". Done.

And since sarcasm doesnt translate well here, this is only 4% sarcasm.

I can tell you that we were staffed for normal Saturday business. We did not anticipate being in this position, simply because this is the 4th year of the event and it has never happened before. There was no need to tell players that we would have long lists, etc. , as all the prior year data suggested we should be good to go on staffing. It didn’t work out that way. I and the rest of my team

Look at the number of games spread on those days.... they were around 24-30 games. We actually scheduled many more dealers, including borrowing at least 8 from TG. If you want to see the schedule and the data, I invite any of you to come see me. I will lay it all out there, and then you can judge for yourself....

Just for sake of argument, how many games do you think we could spread with 121 dealers scheduled? Take a stab at it....

IT does not refer to huge lists.

Then imagine you Have a tourney that is super fast structured with 70 tables of mostly recs. How fast would you bust about 100 players....

Nvm I'm not going to continue this.

To say this never happened before is a bald-faced lie. Own up to your mistakes and do better.

Then we can agree to disagree. We are referring to 2 different issues. We grossly over scheduled this year in comparison to past years. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. I stand by everything I have said.

The dealer shortages at MGM are substantial and predictable, and have a major impact on players.

Forget the big charity tournament days, we know those are huge waits with many empty tables.

Any given Sunday when they run a tourney there are very large waitlists, and empty tables due to lack of dealers. Many times last year I showed up on Sunday afternoon and had to wait as long as four(!) hours for a seat. Eventually I gave up and just go to Live on Sundays.

Often on weekdays there is the same problem. Last Thursday, e.g., there were long lists around noon and I had to wait an hour and a half for a seat.

I have spoken to many dealers and a few of the supervisors about it, and every single one agrees that it is a huge problem that they cannot seem to solve and that is costing them a large amount of revenue.

Every player I have spoken to about it agrees, and many, like me, have shifted a large portion of our business over to Live. There is virtually never a wait there, lots of action, excellent customer service, and sparkling clean large bathrooms.

Anecdotally speaking (and my experience may be biased) MGM traffic seems to have come down over the past few months. I think it's more noticeable at night.

Right now, there are 32 games at MGM and 27 at Live. Maybe live has a great promotion or tournament, so it's not representative. But if it is, it's worth noting because MGM used to have almost double Live's traffic.

It was not a secret that a lot of dealers would not show up for work on Saturday.

I got in around 10:30 p.m. and it took over an hour to get a 2/5 seat. 1/3 was moving faster (although list was longer), but I didn't want to play 1/3. :/

On bright side, caught a glimpse of Mike Matusow (is that a bright side?).

For discussion purposes, can you add some color to the 121 number?

Is this peak volume of dealers? Are they all ‘on’ for 8 hours consecutive with scheduled replacements? Do they take breaks between downs? What is their lunch break? I know that is required.

What else logistically am I missing?
