Was at a fun table today.. the good thing about fw is there are plenty of tables. So even though there are a lot of mis regs there’s also a ton of fun players.

I wish FX (and MS) would put the room on the floor somewhere with foot traffic and open to public so to speak - ie no door. At times I appreciate a dedicated room that is relatively quiet and just a card room. But I think overall an open room would be nice especially during busy periods and better for the games overall. Upstairs is a nicer room than the basement but it's the same vibe.

Mis-Regs are everywhere.

I've heard from a few dealers that the poker room is being moved to the ball room. Rainmaker is so despressing to walk into for sure.

IMHO the cash & tourney players have been more fun to play with post lockdown. I thought it was alot worst a few years ago, but I could just have a low sample size.

Dealers were telling us last night that this is a complete rumor and not at all true so now idk what to believe..

That rumor has been circulating for a few months.

I sure don’t associate Foxwoods Poker with being a fun environment so you must have caught a good day. The last time I was there every table was dead silent until one 65-yr old leatherass reg yelled out in his depressing tone, “Another day on death row!” loud enough for all 20 tables to hear.

Based on the action and atmosphere of the room that day, coupled with the walk from the parking garage down the Rainmaker mortuary, it was quite fitting.

Ya I agree… I only mentioned it bc it was a rarity. Trust me I’ve had 3 miserable experiences since. I’m just not trying to kill the room yet as I’m 1250/2000 to platinum.

Although I am considering moving my play to mgm Springfield if they match my status.

So I got the Foxwoods SummerFest advertising with a two-pager from their CEO Jason Goyot. These were my takeaways from reading this message. If anyone has any additional information add it to the string. Nothing was mentioned about the poker room, but that has been rumored to be moving sometime this year as well, maybe next year?

1 - They are opening a Canopy Players Lounge on July 15th. a 7000 Sq. Ft Bar & Buffet. I'm assuming that this is for Platinum & Diamond members only and the Hampton Lounge will be going away. I think this will be where Veranda used to be near bowling and Burke.

2 - The New Bingo Hall will be opening on July 13th after having a week off after July 4th. But from what I see that they are still closed Monday & Tuesday. There's not information if they will ever go back to 7 days a week, or have a full schedule like they used to have which was almost 6 hours of play per session. I think they are at 3 hours now. Also, no information if this will be a smoking/no-smoking environment. There were always a lot of people in the smoking sections when I went in there. This is one of the only games that has not gone back to normal since covid. Not sure if it ever will. I know they relied on busses, my guess is that busses are running again from NYC and the Boston area.

3 - Golden Dragon is moving to a brand new space, not sure where. But it won't be open until December of 2022. Not sure if the current site of Golden Dragon will be closing soon.

4 - They are opening something called the CardVault? Where you can get all your collectible needs, as they describe it. Not sure where that will be.

5 - They have a new Diamond Player Garage in Grand Pequot, as well as a new elevators in the future going to a new entry with large LED screens.

Golden Dragon is moving to where the Rolex store was. It'll also be taking up space from the existing lounges, which is why they need another ~6 months after the lounges move. Yes, the lounges are moving to the old Veranda space. No idea what entrance requirements will be re Diamond/Platinum etc, but I would guess It'll be similar to when they had the combined lounge in the ballroom.

It’s been several years since I’ve been there but definitely remember very cranky regulars. They did have a lot of 20-40 stud which I enjoyed. Too far of a drive now for me.

Games were bananas yesterday… 3 good tables of plo. It’s only fair that when I talk crap about this place I come back and tell it how it is.. tons of 2-5 action and I think at least 4 tables of stud.

Yes there were still some mis regs but the fun players were plentiful.

This place is so night and day if it seems like I’m talking out of both sides of my mouth it’s bc the games go from being the nittiest to some of the best.

Yeah. The 2/5 NLH were great too

We had 7 ways preflop for $65 each at one point.

People stacking off for no reason was a good night. Gotta love the holidays

What are opening raise sizes at 2/5 like? What’s the range?

I played a bunch of 1-2 last week and saw everything from 5 dollars to 32.

15-25 is normal. Ranges are all over the place. Very few people 3 bet and when they do it’s usually QQ+

At MS and FW an open is probably closer to a 3b! range AK-AQ and TT+

and

a 3b! Is closer to most peoples 4b! Range. AA-QQ

You will also see bad regs just flatting pre w AA-KK-AK… so they have no opening range.

Finally got platinum not bad about 3 months and a couple days…

On a side note the $15 food comp seems like the unicorn of comps for me bc I can’t for the life of me play 15 hours in a single week.

Someone in marketing must have figured this out.

I literally play about 10-14 hours/week on average which means 4 x 3.5 hour sessions.

How does Tier Credit Mania work? It states that from 9am to 8pm it could be up to 5X earning, but it also says it’s 2X, 3X, 4X or 5X and check the screens throughout the day? So does the Tier rate change throughout the day? How does it work with poker. This is on July 25th.

They are also running a similar PointZilla promotion with the same moving multiplyers on July 18th.

Yes, it varies throughout the day. The current multiplier will be up on the board/tvs

Card vault, a sports card store opened at fw but they won’t accept points..

I suppose it’s more surprising that any store would take lol points in the first place.

I have to imagine the markup on cards there is ludicrous compared to eBay comps. If you can't use points there, there's no reason to buy from them whatsoever

Do points expire? 12 months? Calendar year? Roll over?
