The poker room was pretty busy yesterday. I’m guessing many people went to renew their points like I did. Everything in the room seemed to run smoothly. For anyone that doesn’t know, if you get the $15 monthly food offer (not the poker one, the regular one), it’s on your players card automatically. You don’t need to go to the rewards center to ask for it. But it’s only valid in certain restaurants. I had a great burger in the Draft Kings bar. I got room offers for Mon-Thu in October. First time getting offers in a couple years. Looking forward to going back.

2-5plo runs daily usually game starts around 9-10am if you want to guarantee a seat.

Min max is 300-1000

Roughly $1.70 per hour.. if you play 15 hours in a week you get $15 additional food comps. Also a couple times per week you can swipe card for rewards and other promos. They also have 2-5x tier credit and 2-4x rewards points days.

It’s the same rake structure as the other games so it becomes an equation of how bad the players are vs the rake as a constant. Hard to get pots above $50 so there’s no value as far as the rake being capped.

Most of the time the game is nitty and thus unbeatable.

Sometimes people are spewing and it becomes beatable.

So it depends on the game but I’d say 70-90% of the time it’s unbeatable.

Is there a lounge that allows cigar smoking or is the entire place smoke free now?

Pretty sure there isn’t but FW is so big there’s a chance there is a lounge.

I’m like 97% sure it’s smoke free since covid.

Twin Rivers has a decent lounge. Have not been since covid, but I think still open. Nice chairs and a good selection last time I was there.

How have the room offers been of late? Is playing one very long session as opposed to several of moderate length still the optimal method?

Poker is alive and well… 2 guys got into a shoving match because one said something about the others Mom after getting stacked. Players reraising all in with 74s. Interesting action tonight.

Alive and well of what’s left of it, especially at Foxwoods.

Guess I just fully remember and miss the days of that place having 90 cash games running on the weekends

Does anyone know why the split the promotions? They have 4X Tier credits on one week minus poker and 3x the following week for poker only.

Do they think that there is that much cross over between players?

If I were to play -EV games solely to gain comps, would I be better off playing slots or table games?

How would I go about finding the right machine? Is there any skill involved in playing slots or is it just a matter of spinning the wheel?

Just google "advantage slots". You can find some info for +EV advantage plays only on certain slot types. It involves a lot of hit & runs or camping same machines with other patrons doing the same thing. I tried it out, found it very boring, but got the idea of it.

Does video poker have the best payout rate for slots at FW?

I played 3 hours of slots and only lost $50. Guess I can consider that a win.

Can anyone share their experience in regards to comped rooms? I used to receive them solely off poker, however I no longer have any offers despite putting in 8+ hour sessions. I spoke to a fellow player and he said his comped rooms were cut off as well.

Does Foxwoods no longer offer comped rooms solely off poker play?

In pai gow you push a lot so it’s good for comps.

just for the record, hotel rooms are pretty cheap in the general area especially in the winter. check out groton. i know you;ve been asking about rooms all over new england in most threads but i'd consider just booking some of those cheap rooms and let the free rooms come if they do.

as for me, i just got friday/saturday free rooms over xmas weekend which is nice. i probably won't even play at foxwoods either.

I haven't booked a hotel yet. I tend to prefer to go the airbnb route.

The casino would prefer that poker didn't exist. So I wouldn't expect comps ever again for just poker

First wrt comps and tier points, most places do not consider VP as slots. And don’t comp or tier at same rate.

Second, since slots hold can be adjusted by machine, not possible to know a slot payout. Can generally id relative variance by machine type. Can id machines which might be advantage, but really not certain and definitely high variance. But GENERALLY the better VP pay tables are better payout and cheaper ev for comps even with lower per coin comps.
