So if I'm reading correctly the new resort will be built essentially where the surface lots for Tv's currently are, just outside the old poker room?
Is Great Wolf just building a water park or will they also operate their own independent hotel?

Either way, looks like I'll be making at least one annual extended family trip to Foxwoods. Between the water park, mystic, and maybe a beach trip, it's a pretty sweet deal, especially with free hotel rooms!

The article said it wasn’t going to be on reservation land, which makes sense since I don’t think you can own a building on their reservation. I pulled up the reservation boundaries and it doesn’t look like it can be were the surface lots are, since they look like they are on the reservation. There’s an empty spot in front along that road or the land we’re Two Trees is. Also some land in the woods but that doesn’t go with what the article said.

After reading that Foxwoods was also going to improve its “main entrance “, it got me thinking… unless it’s referring to where you would first enter the property from the by-road that they built, what exactly is the main entrance?” I’ve entered from the Cedar garage, the elevators that come up near Fuddruckers, and the Rainmaker near the Hard Rock, and all the entrances seem the same to me.

Do/Did they have a valet? If so, that would be my guess what is called the main entrance.

yes in the rainmaker garage, but still that is far from a nice "main entrance" just an escalator to a hallway

It would have been more believable if it was people moving with walkers and oxygen tanks!!

This comes from a guy whos wife only plays bingo and she is always the youngest person in there!!

On the Foxwoods Instagram account, they posted the same picutres.

Underneath the pictures people posted that they are hearing rumors that the Poker Room is moving near Grand Pequot as part of all the renovations. Anyone else hearing this?

I read somewhere that Golden Dragon would be moving closer to Rainmaker, and that space would combine with part of the ballroom to house the new poker room. Just part of the rumor mill.

hopefully with its own dedicated cage..

I can understand branching out into other activities with the water park, but why move the poker room? Are there reasons why it might be bad where it is?

As an aside, I have been with the fam to the Great Wolf lodge locations in the Pocono and in Fitchburg, MA. While we preferred the PA location, both were a good time, and like poker rooms, if this new location is well run, I’m sure it will be a good time as well.

I see it as all around great for poker players. It locates us centrally to the rest of the casino, giving us easier access to the lounges and all 3 hotels. We'll get a renovation which isn't really needed but always welcome.

The only downside is as previously mentioned, the dedicated cage. It's currently planned for us to use the Pequot cage, which is.... Um.... Sub optimal at best.

First trip back to Foxwoods since the pandemic started. I place a wager at the kiosk in the poker room, I win my bet.

I guess you just have to scan the ticket instead of inserting it, so I scanned it, and I get a message saying, this voucher has already been redeemed.

So I panic thinking maybe I did something wrong, and I race over to the main sportsbook. They tell me the voucher was already redeemed, I’m getting super upset at this point because it’s a terrible system that allows you to keep a winning ticket or voucher. They have the exact time I scanned my voucher and then 4 minutes later somebody placed a bet for the amount of my voucher.

After a good 45-50 minutes, they pull up surveillance and see that it wasn’t me, and they were able to cancel the other persons wager, and pay out my wager.

What a shitty system that instead of the machine being fed the ticket, you just have to scan it, they said that happens a handful of times per day. Thankfully Foxwoods got it right, poker room was buzzing, 9 handed sucks but better than nothing, and the setup for betting sports is pretty cool. Hope they will fix the machines.

Oh, and as soon as I got there I deposited 1k into the DK app, only to find out you can’t bet on the app while on property, so that was fun.

Yeah I don't understand this. Especially since there are different bets on the app verses the kiosk.

It's the same with the Fanduel app and Mohegan. Gotta be a reason behind it.

I would have to guess that the casino gets a cut of the bets placed through the kiosks or the book. They get nothing from the app.

Same goes for both DK sportsbook and DK fantasy. I was at Bow and Arrow and couldn’t use either. I had to get in my car and drive off the reservation to change a football lineup.

A buddy of mine that works at Foxwoods says he can’t access any of the apps when he is working

It's something like a 10 or 15 mile radius from the sports book that you can't use the app. Mohegan is within that range from DK, as the crow flies.

All you have to be is off the reservation. All three sports betting apps won’t work on either reservation.

Post covid shut down, Foxwoods bathrooms have detoriated. Just trashed all the time.

Mohegan isn't much better either in this realm.
