The lowest I've seen win this year was last week with 11 wins but that was a 37 way tie with the Monday Night points tiebreaker deciding the winner.

A month ago I had one wrong and was off the tiebreaker by 2 points, the guy was one point off.. we we're the only 2 that had only 1 wrong..pick 6 by the 49ers with like 3 minutes left in the game cost me $5k

I heard it was close to 100 and a really nice turnout. Didn't play it, but I plan on going Wednesday and late reg'ing. Hoping for a similar turnout because I love the idea of having a midweek tournament with higher payouts than the $10Ks.

Heard Rainmaker is completely shut down now including weekends. Does this mean poker room is definitely moving? Hard Rock closing?

Yes we're all aware of the rumors that have been posted on here. He's asking if anyone has heard anything new lately.

This was in the local paper....

As of June, slot machines and some table games in Rainmaker Casino have been closed on weekdays.
Foxwoods has announced that it will redevelop a portion of the Rainmaker Casino beginning Nov. 21. During a transition phase, some Rainmaker areas will remain open, including a newly created nonsmoking slots area consisting of about 500 slot machines, as well as Asian and domestic table games, racebook, poker room, tournament poker tables and tournament slot machines.

The 62 table-games positions to be eliminated include 12 dual-rates — dealers who serve at times in supervisory roles — 35 full-time dealers and 15 part-time dealers. In the poker department, two dual rates and 20 full-time dealers’ positions will be cut.

Hoping they'll enclose the poker room off to keep the smoke out from the race book and table games nearby!

Oh...and anyone losing a job in this economy really sucks! Sorry to hear about this!

The Nov 21st date is new to me and doesn't sound good. Here is the article from ctnow:

I wonder if they will cut their poker table sizes down if they relocate to a place like the ball room.

I received an email today that stated that rainmaker will be opened 7 days a week and will be non smoking from now on. Below is text from email

• Introducing a new non-smoking slot area, featuring 500 slots, in Rainmaker Casino outside the Atrium Bar and Hard Rock Café — open 7 days a week.

• Play Rainmaker Slots at Great Cedar Casino and Festival Slots Casino. Or try your luck at Grand Pequot Casino and Fox Tower Casino.

• Rainmaker still offers table games, Asian games, Racebook and the Poker Room.

Our non-smoking slot area is just one of the great new experiences we're offering as part of our commitment to exceptional service.

I got that too. You misinterpreted though. Only that new slot area will be non-smoking and open 7-days. Everything else is still status-quo.

How substantial a % of the current staff is this ?

20 full time dealers would be equivalent to 5 tables during 1 shift 5 days/wk. I don't think it's a large %.

5 tables? How did you figure that?
It's 20 full time poker dealers and two dual rates. More pit dealers also

Yeah I messed that up. Should be 15 tables for 1 shift 5 days/wk for 20 full-time dealers.

So where is this NEW area? Are they talking about the Festival Slot area where it's the ONLY slot area in that part of the casino? I got the same email as everyone else and I'm trying to figure it all out

No, sounds like they are closing off the middle section of Rainmaker between the poker escalator to that 3 door entrance to the upstairs tourney area.

And the answer is...........

I heard rainmaker closing but Asian table game area open till january.

Back there plus bj, baccaret, pia gow, sick bo,
