This room should start up an online site, and offer poker promo's like MoheganSun does....

I guess they are filming a commercial or something in the poker room.

i find almost everything about the mgm annoying but the jamming of two keys and the room info paper into the sharp-cornered pouch thingies is definitely a top 5

The worst thing about MGM is the sharp edges everywhere in the rooms. I have drawn blood in those rooms just by walking around and hitting a handle to the bedside end table.

Stuff some band aids in with te key cards please.

Or don't be so clumsy

I love the renovated Pequot rooms but unfortunately if it's not a comp and you're paying for it they upcharge you $30-60 to stay in one vs the older ones (unless they only have renovated ones left). Soon they will be finished, so hopefully that upcharge won't get incorporated into the rates.

This is a shame. Craft is the best restaurant on the property, IMO. This will be good for David Burke's and Cedars, I guess.
I would not be surprised to see the MGM Grand (or whatever it will be called in future) close as a hotel within a couple of years. (Will Outlet Mall offset MA and NY casinos?)

Can't see them closing the MGM before they would close the rainmaker casino and cedar hotel but you never know

No one said they are closing the MGM, or any of the other casinos.

They are severing their relationship with MGM.

I was replying to the post above mine that said he could see MGM hotel closing in the future. I know nothing like that is happening now

They're definitely not closing MGM now (although I think they'll be changing the name shortly); I was speculating about what they might do in the future if their traffic drops a lot because of MA and/or NY casinos.
The outlet mall is obviously their hopeful answer to this; perhaps it will work?
But if their traffic should drop, by say 30-50% with casinos in MA and NY, and if they do need to contract, IMO it would be much easier to mothball MGM (or to convert it to condo's?) than it would be to shut down a part of the Pequot/Cedars/Rainmaker complex and to keep MGM running as a hotel/casino.

If they do contract in the future, rainmaker would be the first to go simply for the fact it's older and needs renovating.

They need the hotel space and convention. Cannot see them closing MGM.

As if the drink service wasn't bad enough, apparently the size of shots has been reduced to a laughable .75oz

They served me a cup full of scotch just a few days ago. Maybe it depends on the server or bartender.
