I'm amazed at the regulars playing 1/2 every time I come to Foxwoods. Are they really grinding 1/2 for a living? Is that even possible ? They always seem to be at table every time I come.

But just to point out, there's no difference between the 2 as far as usage/perks.

Why have the dealers in the room been so horrible lately? I understand its a megastack and all the seasonals are in but I saw one dealer get pulled from 3 tables! Little old asian guy had to feel bad for him but he definitely shouldn't have been dealing.

pay attention ?
just be aware of your surroundings and then don't be an ******* on the poker table. you will be followed for money and/or because your an *******.

Being the ******* is what defines you from most who have cash at casinos
or
at least flaunting what you do have (pulling out stack of hundreds or whatever when paying for drinks , keep separate cash )

What I am saying is it isn't hard to avoid if you just use a bit of common sense.

yeah i more so was just wondering if people had heard of this happening much around here. I play a decent amount of live 1/2 and 2/5 and hadn't ever really heard any stories about it happening. Everything you said I def agree is common sense. there are crazy desperate people out there though so i don't think that necessarily means you couldn't just be the unlucky person that the person chose to try to rob that day. i just had never really thought about it before reading the thread.

Foxwoods is one of the easiest casinos to get a safe-deposit box. If you are frequently leaving the casino with more cash than you are comfortable with just start leaving it at the casino for next time.

There's also ATMs in the casino that you can deposit into, right?

I don't believe so. However you can just go to the cage and have a check issued. That's not an option for people who want to keep it as cash (re: off the books), but if you're putting it in the bank anyway...

Im posting this here cause its the more busy of the two threads.

I was planning on playing the 330 30k guarantee at Mohegan on Sunday and then noticed Foxwoods has a 180 20k guarantee.

This is an easy choice playing for almost half as much for a good size guarantee right?

Every time I walk to the parking lot, I curse out loud and act as if I just lost my rent money. This thwarts potential assailants.

Also since most people live a hour + from the casino just made sure no one follows you the whole way

1. Don't flaunt money.
2. Whenever a random person asks you how you did, respond that you lost.
3. Don't be a tough guy.

There's a simple 3 step system to avoid getting jacked.

+1

On another note the 6 max was a lot of fun, seemed to have a much more laid back atmosphere , prolly from having more room at the table. Went out 40th or so , so up to that point at least. Saw its on the next series can only hope for a bigger field too

The 300 from what I heard handled the downstairs overflow well apart from some people having to move over and over I got a early table even with arriving late and didnt have to move till around the money time.

I have heard the 330 Mohegan is super soft with a great schedule for what it's worth ....

There is one ATM where u can make deposits if you're part of that bank, it's a credit union actually. It's right off to the right of you're standing right in front of the great cedar hotel lobby. Connecticut Community Credit Union might be the name of it

Let a guy off the hook today.

I flop top two pair, i check it to original raiser. He makes it 20, i bump it to 70, and he says 700. He only had ~200 in front of him, and had joked in the previous hand about how he was going to make it 700. He then proceeded to think about a call for a few minutes, and ended up folding.

Still seems like an angle though. If this happens again I am snap calling, and turning my hand over.

Verbal is binding. Last trip down there a guy to my left fires after the flop for $45. A lady goes all in for $61 total. It's folded back to the guy where he says fold (jokingly because he's obviously calling) and then goes to grab chips. Lady objects and floor comes over and makes him muck his hand.

Yea, I don't let that guy off the hook there Hans. But that's me. People think its cool to joke when there's money on the line. Like the guy who jokingly tried to slow roll someone in a tourney.

I had to see one of the greatest things I've ever seen in that poker room last weekend. Older fella at 2/5 verbally declares 15! Says it numerous times. Proceeds to stick out 15 red chips. Amazing.
