You should always be careful of course, but no, it's not very common here.

Some things I learned over the weekend...

Alcohol will now be served all the way to 1am/2am on Sun-Thur/Fri-Sat, as opposed to last call being 30-45 mins beforehand. Also they don't have to pick up your drink at 1am/2am, you can hang on to your last drink as long as you want.

Starting June 1st poker points will no longer count toward eligibility for lounge access. This eliminates everyone who doesn't regularly play tables/slots. Most of you didn't have access anyway so you're not affected, but I know of several regs who at least get into the Cedar lounge currently.

I did hear the same thing next door regarding the drinks, some guy refused to giving up his last drink to a new waitress who kept trying to take it away at 2:30 am lol

It's new CT state legislation. Also liquor stores can open on Sundays now if they choose.

i was down on sunday and heard some CT radio show talking about changing the alcohol restrictions on sundays, didnt think this change applied to other venues. what time do restauraunts/bars in CT stop serving booze before the law change?

on another note, was anyone else at the woods on sunday and think that the room was particuarly slow?

Yes, I used to never play Sundays but have put them into my play the last 2 months or so. This Sunday was very poor. I wonder if the cause of that is the tournament Mohegan runs every 3rd Sunday of the month.

Sundays have been my favorite day to play for a long time but, yes, this Sunday sucked. Hopefully, it was just a fluke.

I just was thinking of a potential flaw in the FW system as far as mtts. Me personally when i get my seat i like getting a comfortable seat, because im a big guy. If i get seat 4 5 or 6 its very uncomfortable for me... but its luck of the draw and they cant be just hand picked, i totally understand.. but theres a way around it and i been doing it for awhile... i simply unregister from the tourney and then re-register hoping i dont draw 4-5-6 again.

So today this had me thinking, i went to do an 11 am tourney, i went to buy my ticket at 1045 and drew seat 1 great, i went to the table and showed the dealer my receipt and was ready to play... now if i had drew a seat i didnt want i wouldve simply tried to get a new one. Now i started to think that people can severely abuse this and theres nothing that can happen/they do about it, you can simply register for a tournament and then show your receipt to the dealer, then DE-register and get your money back, then go to the table and play cards! not nothing will be done. Im guessing at the end of the tourney is your only flaw and you'd get caught if you cashed, but seriously like what if 3 or 4 people did this, and then they"chipdumped" the chips to a"Real player" in the tournament?

Its not even farfetched, and it seems like it could be done, whaddaya guys think? and no im not condoning this just very skeptic especially because i hear a floorguy telling a dealer other day "oh somehow we had extra chips in play" it just got me thinking thats all.

That's quite a loophole. 1 way to prevent it is for them to pick an un-registration deadline (say 10 mins before start time), and have the dealers verify the slips AFTER this deadline. Then a player wouldn't be able to pull that off.

Once you unregister won't they sell that seat to someone else?
Quote
05-22-2012 , 07:03 PM
You're going to get another player being assigned that seat if they have late registration.
Quote

Only if it sells out. Many times they've picked up unclaimed stacks after late registration ends. And if you're chip-dumping to someone at your starting table, it only takes a few hands before the damage is done.

Most likely your seat will be sold within minutes as your seat will be the next one to be sold, thats the reason seat 10 is the last one to be filled at each table, they fill seats 1,3,5,7 and 9 first, then move on to 2,4,6,8,10

you do realize you can just grab a floor before you register and tell him you want that seat right? Like the old people who can't see at all can request a seat in the middle of the table...

you have to ask the floor though - the cage can't do it without permission

I don't think a lot of people realize that, no. Though I would imagine that they would only do it to accommodate physical disability (such as a sight issue as you mentioned)... not sure if being a "big" guy qualifies.

i would have to guess how big of a guy you are, how nice you are, and if you're known to tip or not (it certainly helps when getting preferential treatment)
