Detroit - Page 705 - Venues & Communities -- Two Plus Two Poker Forums

Was just browsing some of the other regional threads and found a couple of interesting things compared to what we talk about here.
1. In the Calgary thread they love when the poker room is next to the club (unlike MGM talk here)
2. Lots of daily PLO action in Calgary
3. In the London thread they think a 10% 5+1 max rake is unbeatable, and that's the highest rake in town. Of course, they're talking about a 1/1 game so ktim.
4. London thread complains about having to pay for tea. I guess that would be like us complaining about paying for coffee.

1) Having a non-poker draw near the room is generally good for foot traffic. Look at where the MGM Vegas Poker room is, right in the middle of one of the entries to the casino, next to a bar/lounge. The problem with MGM Detroit is that both the poker room and the club are upstairs away from the main casino floor, *and* it's a relatively small space up there so the club noise is louder than is comfortable at some times.

3) With the $1 bb and smaller max buy ins, their game is far more comparable to playing $1/2 with a $10+2 rake ... which I'd think is pretty damn hard to beat.

I should really check out some of those other threads.

I mean I play there almost every Sunday in that 5/5 game .. We're all regs there, about 5 of us all know each other.. there is always 1-2 fish there that will drop a lot of money.. 1 in particular (wont say who haha) .. and then you get randoms that hear about the game.. The game gets nitty sure, but people start spewing towards the end because they haven't made any money and its closing time... just what I feel like goes on when I'm there.
