what is the minimum amount that people buy at the table in the high limit room as opposed to getting chips at the cage? i only played 10/20NL once but i don't imagine people like walking back to the high limit room with $5k+ in a rack - with the risk of dropping it, having to wait with it while you're on the list, etc...

would people get pissed off if you buy in for $1500 in the 5/10NL at the table or from the chip vendor guy?

I doubt you could run a 2/5 NL and a 5/5 NL concurrently long term. One game is likely to dominate IMO.

It's not really the buy-in, so much as it's the fact that 2/5NL is 100BB cap and 5/10NL is 200BB cap. There's nothing to stop people from buying in at 5/10NL for $1000. . . many players do.

Buy in using the chip runner, if he's available, and the dealer if he's not. One of the perks of playing in the back.

Game selection....IMO

Besides better comps/room rates other places, why go anywhere else?

Summer tourney series should be fun as well.

I could be wrong but I doubt it. Please don't take this the wrong way. Poker players deserve good comps. The Free nights and special comps that poker players are receiving right now at various houses will soon be coming to and end or at least slow way down. May 28th starts the new marketing calender for the Summer season. Some houses may carry on these giveaways through June but beware of JULY and AUGUST. I wonder what the Borgata will do! HHHHUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!

However, there's recently been new software developed that allows players to calculate poker odds on iPhone, and some of it's pretty good: "How much equity does AKo have on a flop of QJ7 vs. an opponent range of {AQ,77,JT}." That doesn't even encompass all the collusion scenarios via text messaging.

What's the Borgata's official policy:
a) on cell phone usage in general during cash games
b) What would the penalty be for being caught using poker software during a hand? What about text message collusion?
a) You may not use your cell phone while playing in a hand.
b) That would be up to security at that point or the State Police. I truly doubt that I would decide their fate. Two people texting each other IMO would be easy to spot after a while!

I talked to security today just as promised. You will most likely see more patrols in that area.

continue to not comp us low limit donks?

I mean, I understand economics far better than most players who bitch about comps do but 8 hours of play at Harrah's nets me free midweek rooms at any of their properties - even in the summer. 30+ hours at the Borg and I've never even gotten a discount. That's pretty much the reason my gf and I (who stay in the same room yet are not allowed to combine cards) go anywhere else.

You cannot make your first buy from the table no matter the level so unless there is a chip runner even the 10/20NL players have to get their chips at the cage. I don't mind that so much but last Friday they called our game and I went and got my chips but then the game didn't go and I was stuck holding them for over an hour waiting for a seat....arghhh.

I don't think any one would mind if you bought 1.5k from the runner, after all that's why he's there (if you can find him!).

I see 10/20NL and 5/10NL players buy in at the table all the time, as soon as they sit down for all amounts. It's one of the big differences between the high limit section and the main room (that, and food at the table.)

Ruler of the East,

what is the cost and time constraints on approving new poker games into the gaming commission?

- A-5 // 2-7 TD
- A-5 // 2-7 single draw no limit
- badugi
- stud hi-lo regular
- razz

basically, how much will it cost to bring the west coast // vegas poker varities to the east coast?

There isn't any cost. It's all about getting the commission to approve it.
