I've noticed it too, I think it's smoke combined with ventilation and whatever they use to make it not smell like smoke.

It's nowhere near as bad as the poker room at Wild horse Pass.

I'm in town for a week and probably gonna play a couple times. Which games tend to have better action, 2/5nl or 8/16? I'm a bad 2/5 reg and where i live there's basically zero limit games (so I'm probably bad, but who knows). Thanks in advance if anyone wants to help out.

Seriously? Sloth, watch an 8-16 game where the chips get shoveled into the pot hand after hand and then a 3/5 game where there's a big pot once in a while.

Just played 5 hrs of 8/16. Incredibly soft. I envy you guys who can grind that consistently. I'm sure it's different outside of spring training, but it's still probably pretty good.

How does the 8-16 compare to the 4-8?

The former is about 10 years younger and thus has pf raises.

$125 preflop? So on average there is a raise and 7 callers every hand?

There's not normally THAT degree of action but it does happen. Sometimes that game goes right off the rails and it's fasten your seat belt time.

Of course when a lot of people are in each hand you are going to have to make good hands that stand up to get the money. Bluffing won't work that well.

Suppose you run fairly good (but not necessarily like god) in the game that day when it's "off the rails" - how much do you think you could win in say a 6-8 hour session?

You can easily win between $600 and $1000.

Also being half-kill skews the averages up a little.

I guess I'd rather take my chances in the spread limit games but everyone to their own poison.

New menu as of today. Rib eye gone, replaced by some other, smaller cut. I didn't closely examine it but there is some good news, imo: The fantastic pot roast is now on the menu. Yum, what diet?

Win rate will for the most part be higher in games where you have the ability to win a higher percentage of pots without show down. In 8-16 (or most any stake) limit, you don't get to do that near as much as in pot, spread, and no limit games. That isn't to say you can't achieve high win rates in limit (obv) but it takes a much different skill set, strategy, and knowledge base than PL/SL/NL because of that exact factor.

How is the structure for the getaway tournaments? Can't get in before they start to check and can't seem to find anything online.

Which of the regular monthly tournaments will it most closely resemble?

Thanks!

Playing this getaway tournament and there was no staff add on. Checked structure sheet and it doesn't say an amount withheld for staff, just 265+35 service fee. What am I missing?

Pretty sure they eliminated the dealer add ons a while ago for good in all their tourneys

You don't have to bring $10 or whatever it was to your starting table?

OE Fun,

Omaha Kill pot, HU on River. Player A announces straight and turns over hand, player B turns over Kings Up and low. dealer attempts to chop pot and player with low says "that's not a straight". Player A actually has small 2 pair and 4 straight. Dealer ships pot to player B, and starts cleaning up. Player B says what about his bets he pulled back? Dealer can't remember action so players have to help reconstruct hand, after 5 minutes of bickering.

Dealer leaves, and next dealer ships first large chopped pot to one player.

Correct. I asked about this today and apparently the dealer appreciation is now built into the service fee.
