I see, that's makes sense.

The details of my problem are as follows, HEM 1

I did not use my HEM for several months.

I had many HH files saved on my computer in the Stars folder.

When I opened up HEM for the first time in a long while, I used the import function and it seemed to import the HH files without a problem, because no error message was shown and it displayed info that it was importing files, 1 of 579 , 2 of 579 etc..

When I try to locate any of the new hands in the software, under reports, or even just where you click the hands tab, it shows the newest hands as being ones from several months ago.

I have completed the following steps and still have the issue

1. downloaded most recent upgrade to hem software
2. cleared filters
3. changed the date format on my computer to MM/DD/YY

None of this has solved the issue, and I have no idea what HEM is doing with these hands it is supposedly importing because they don't show up anywhere in the database.

Pls help me and let me know what steps to take to fix this.
From reading some of the other posts, it seems that creating a new database might be the solution for me, if that is the case, please list the steps for me on how to create a new database and import all of my info into it.

No worries, it would be very easy to miss considering how fast this thread moves and how many random HM1 internal/beta builds we have posted.

If you had that many files in your stars folder the auto-import process was probably unable to archive them. Auto-import is for live play with the HUD and Manual Import From Folder is for old/bulk hands.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloa..._18May2012.exe

Move the files in the handhistory folder to your \hmarchive folder and import them via import file or import from folder.

All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HMArchive is likely not in your \Holdem Manager directory. We normally suggest you use C:\HMArchive, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HMArchive\2009\07\31).

If you continue to have problems, try the following -

*Try creating a new UTF DB - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...elete+Database
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...6+Export+Hands
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB.
*Make sure you export/backup everything before deleting the old DB - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...+-+Backup+Tips

I imported all the hands from HMArchive like you suggested, and it did the importing without any errors. Then when I go back to Hands, show last 100, it is still showing hands from last year as the most recent. I guess this means I have to create a new database.....

Ok so I created a new database, and imported a small number of hands from the archive, which seemed to import properly using the "Import from Folder" Option, but there is still NO hands showing in the database ? I went to setup my username but there is no hands there?
So it seems that the new database is also not archiving properly??
What do I do now?

I noticed something that might be a clue. When I am importing hands from the archive into the new database, after it is done importing a folder , like the folder for May 20th for example it says "Files imported - 34 Hands imported - 0 "

Is there a stat for Mean stack size in the HUD/popup? I'm looking for something to be able to tell someone's regular stack size at a glance.

Is there anything in the filters folder in

7: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\
You must show both hidden files and check unhide system files. See this:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tuto...torial151.html

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User_name\Application Data\HoldemManager
For showing hidden files and unhide system files, see this:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d....mspx?mfr=true

If so, delete the contents of that folder

You can add bb stat to see how many bb's a player has.

It looks like udbrky didn't realize you were using HM1 instead of HM2 so you can ignore the steps above.

If the 'clear filters' steps I gave above don't help:

Please zip and email the problem hand histories, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to support@holdemmanager.com

Please attach your holdemmanager.config file from C:\Program Files(x86)\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config. If your extensions are off you'll just see a file called holdemmanager. Windows hides 'known file extensions' by default. http://www.granneman.com/techinfo/wi...howextensions/

There was no filters folder there. There was just a folder called "Backups" that was empty.

However I did find many filters in a different folder, under Local Disk (E>HoldemManager>Filters Should I delete these?

Which reminds me that I have installed HoldemManager on the secondary harddrive in my computer. Could this be part of the problem?

I have a feeling its something to do with the Postregsql thing.

Ok... but it have tried importing any new hand history I get and it does the same thing, It seems to import it, and then it seems as though the hand is not in the database. So its not really an issue of "problem hand histories" imo, I could literally just send you any hh because it seems they all are problems for my software. I will follow your instructions.....

OK, I will keep an eye out for your email. We need a few sample hands so we can try to duplicate the problem on our test machines and we need to the config file to look for any possible config settings that might be causing this problem. If we can duplicate the problem and dont find any config conflicts that could cause this we can write up a bug for the developers to investigate it. If the files you send don't help us duplicate the bug or find a solution we will probably reply to your email and try to schedule a remote support session so we can take a look at your machine/settings to see if we can fix it for you personally.

I have sent the email.

If it helps at all in finding an easy solution, im fine with losing the data from the old database and just using the new one, since the data was old anyway. I will just want the most recent hands to start. I guess this will just be a matter of not importing all the old hands into the new database.

I found your email and will test the hands and look at your config file right after I eat some lunch.

Which version of HM2? Some previous versions had a bug where the hands weren't being archived properly which could cause the problems you describe.

Please reproduce the problem and attach a short video http://www.techsmith.com/jing.html

If the video is too big for email you can share it via screencast with jing and send us a link to watch it.

Please reproduce the problem and attach your log.txt file - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...ger+Support%3F

Please zip and email the log along with the video, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to hm2support@holdemmanager.com
version HEM2.0.0.6866

i do not have the resources to do the rest of that. it did it again today though.

The video recording software I suggested is free and easy to use. If you don't want to bother with a video a couple of screen shots should be sufficient and is also free.

The log file and email I asked for should only take a minute or two to send but if all of this is a problem with the pokerstars client and not our software there won't be anything we can do to fix it. We will need to wait for them to fix it in an update.

Yes, follow the 'standalone' instructions and I think it should work for you. Sreti is offline right now so I can't ask him but as far as I know the standalone version still works with HM1. If you have any problems send an email to NoteCaddy support at support@notecaddy.com so they can assist you.
