Are you trying to:

1) Delete the original HH files from the archive? I personally never suggest deleting the original/archived files. If you ever have problems with your database you will want those so you can import them to a new database.

All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HMArchive is likely not in your \Holdem Manager directory. We normally suggest you use C:\HMArchive, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HMArchive\2009\07\31).

You can Zip these files in the archive to compress them and save space, or move them to an external drive, but I would not suggest you outright delete them forever.

2) Or delete the hands from your HM1 database?

There are two types of purges (delete)

-options--> settings--> purge hands (will delete handhistory, hand from graph, $Won from sessions, etc. everything, so hand won't be used anymore for stats)
-options--> settings--> observed HH configuration--> purge hands--> will delete the handhistory and therefore the ability to replay the hand, but the hand will still be used for the graph, $Won from sessions and for the HUD.

If you're deleting a lot of hands, it's usually best to just create a new empty database.

They typically are scheduled within 24 hours but it depends on your time zone, when we receive the email, and the availability of our remote support techs (who are a little behind schedule right now because of the increase caused by Zoom).

If you want to email me directly I can try to expedite your meeting to get it scheduled asap.

Please email me at fozzy@holdemmanager.net, with a link to this thread, and your forum name, so we can schedule a Teamviewer session. Download the Teamviewer Quick Support Module - http://www.holdemmanager.com/teamviewer Please let me know what time zone you are in and what time/days are convenient for you.

Please install the latest version: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloa...0thApril-1.exe

and go to Filter > Clear and then Filter > Use for all. Also try enabling the Options > Settings... > Miscellaneous > [x] Auto apply filter changes to all tabs.

If you continue to have problems, your database may be damaged, so please try the following -

*Try creating a new UTF DB - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...elete+Database
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...6+Export+Hands
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB.
*Make sure you export/backup everything before deleting the old DB - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...+-+Backup+Tips

We have been steadily fixing these sorts of bugs but it depends on the site you play and whether or not the necessary information is contained in the hand history files and tournament summaries. Some sites/games simply do not provide enough information for them to be automatically tracked.

If you would like to test it for yourself and your HM2 trial has expired you can email me and I will issue you a 30 day temporary code for HM2. Please email me at fozzy@holdemmanager.net, with a link to this thread, and your forum name, with the subject line of '30 More Days' and I will email you a HM2 code so you can test it for your self.

Hey fozzy, I installed last internal beta+new DB with success, but forgot to export notes from my old DB.
I guess i have to uninstall, resintall 12.9, export from old DB than switch DB than upgrade, or is there a quicker way ?

They're in a HHArchive folder. I never bothered importing them to HEM2 and never will as the hands are too old. I used them in HEM1 but obviously I have no need for this anymore and can't even access HEM1 anyway now. I just want to delete them to free up the 2gb or so of space on my laptop.

Hey, I apologize in advance if this question has been asked and answered already, but after a quick search I didn't see it...

I am a long time user/lover of HM1 (small stakes). I was hesitant to upgrade to HM2 for various reasons, but now I want to get OM. I think I found that OM1 is no longer available, which is fine.. I also think I found out that I can't get OM2 without also upgrading my HM1 to HM2, which I can live with (I guess).. So now for my question(s)...

What is the cheapest pain-free way for me to get OM2 (and I assume HM2 upgrade)? (link?)
Is there still an upgrade discount that would apply? (link?)
Is there a trial of all of the above that would still be eligible for any upgrade discount? (link?)

Thanks!

You should be able to just install the 1.12.09 patch to 'rollback' your current installation - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

Then launch the \rvg software\holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe and click Connect. Then you can change the active database and export the hands from the database. If you play tourneys you should also export the tourney results.
Also of note, and more important than the exported hands IMO: All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HMArchive is likely not in your \Holdem Manager directory. We normally suggest you use C:\HMArchive, but you may have put it anywhere. Once you get everything imported to the new database you should create a backup file in case you have any problems in the future as restoring a backup file is easier and quicker than a manual import. If your database becomes corrupt you can restore a backup and only have to import the most recent hands (that were played after the backup was created).

We have a backup and restore feature within Holdem Manager that makes it easy for you to backup all your settings, hand histories and files.
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...up+%26+Restore

This is a new feature and there are some compatibility issues with it so if you have any problems you can do this manually by following the instructions below:

Manual database backup/restore via pgadmin - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...store+Database

Yes, if you don't want to ever import them again to any database you can delete them. I would personally 'zip' them first, then delete the originals, and save the smaller compressed zip file to an external hard drive or other backup source in case you ever want to import them again for any reason (I just like having my old hands for reference). If you have no need to ever import them again you can simply delete them forever.

HM2/OM2 are the same program. The only difference in terms of viewing Holdem/Omaha hands is done via the licensing system. if you own OM1 you can upgrade directly to OM2.

Please see this FAQ so you can upgrade your HM1 code to a HM2 code and receive your 33% discount - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...Upgrade+Policy

HM2/OM2 has a 30 day free trial that you should be able to use before you actually pay for the upgrade. If your trial has expired you can email me and I will issue you a 30 day temporary code for HM2. • reports > cash > overall report (or any report)
  • stats button in top left corner
  • available statistics > aggression
  • flop aggpct, turn aggpct, river aggpct
  • left arrow to add them to the included statistics window

What version number are you using?

I can not reproduce this. I tried to minimize the Cash Results Graph, the Printer Friendly Graph, and the popout Overall > Show or Hide Results Graph but they all hold their image and do not refresh/redraw when I bring them back from the task bar.

Please reproduce the problem and attach a short video http://www.techsmith.com/jing.html

That is possible if you have multiple large databases or a single database with millions of hands.

General rule is 1 million hands = 10 GB.

In reality it's: 1 million hands
HM1: 6.8 GB
HM2: 4.3 GB
PT4: 13.6 GB

It is even more likely if your postgresql installation has logging enabled.

Logging:

I would suggest you turn off logging on your new SQL installation.

To turn off logging, follow these instructions. This is the first thing I do anytime I install SQL for someone.

- Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > UnCheck 'Hide Extensions for known file types' > OK

- C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\data\postgresql.conf > Right-Click > Open With.. > NotePad > Check 'Always use this program'

- Scroll about half way down to ~Lines 245 - 260:

- The last line of this block of code, for the 'logging_collector', must be changed from On to Off.

HTML Code:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# ERROR REPORTING AND LOGGING
#------------------------------------------------------------------------------

# - Where to Log -

log_destination = 'stderr' # Valid values are combinations of
          # stderr, csvlog, syslog and eventlog,
          # depending on platform. csvlog
          # requires logging_collector to be on.

# This is used when logging to stderr:
logging_collector = off # Enable capturing of stderr and csvlog

File > Save; File > Close

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL 8.3 > Reload Configuration.

- Start > My Computer > C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\data\pg_log, or C:\Program Files (x86)\PostgreSQL\data\pg_log, if you have 64 bit Vista. Delete all files in that folder. And it might be a good idea to empty your recycle bin at that point, or use a 3rd party utility like CCleaner to clean up all your junk/temporary files. You want to do this before you get to the vacuum and defrag process.

Regarding database maintenance:

You should regularly purge mined hands in your database, after purge vacuum / full analyze the database via pgadmin. You do not want to purge any Hero hands so make sure your alias is properly configured before purging.

Then you can vacuum/analyze - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...tabase+#manual

Before you defragment you should stop the PostgreSQL service:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL 8.x > Stop Server

Use your favorite defrag tool. I recommend Smart Defrag.

After defrag I recommend you reboot your PC. If you need to access the DB before rebooting you can start the PostgreSQL service.

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL 8.x > Start Server

Is this HM1 or HM2? Make sure you have the seating preferences setup properly and that you have the latest beta from our forums as there were some seating preferences bugs we fixed recently.

HM1:

Beta build - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloa...0thApril-1.exe

Preferred seating - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questio...+Merge+Network

HM2:

Beta build - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloa...8HM2Update.exe

Preferred seating - http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/ques...ng+Preferences

Quote:

SNG or MTT?

SNG's are usually tracked fairly well but whenever they add new games/rooms we need to make changes to support the new rooms. Merge doesn't write buyin/results info to the hand history so we have to infer it by the room names. For MTT's they don't record any of the winnings/results in the hand history files, and don't provide separate tournament summary files detailing the MTT results, so they will have to be manually edited much of the time.

Any tournament with more than 1 table will require a separate Tournament Summary/History file to be imported for HM2 to properly calculate the size, places, and prizes. If your site does not write summaries, or you experience any discrepancies with the results, you will need to manually edit the results via the Reports > Tournament > Tournaments > right-click > edit.

If you continue to have problems, please zip and email the problem hand histories. All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HM2Archive is in C:\HM2Archive by default, but you may have put it anywhere. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HMArchive\2009\07\31).
