Really thought Hart was lying when he said he hadn't spoken to Cohle in 10 years. Apparently not.

Er because she straight up told him after it was retaliation at her husband (she called it 'war'), he thinks she's into him. She's not.

Didn't happen quite as I thought it would but the general outline, nailed it afaict:

I think MM/WH will not meet their deadline* or will be shut down early and the task force will swoop in and make a quick arrest to placate the powers that be and assure the public etc.

* And from here I'll say they are getting close and looking in right places. That a powerful person is the likely killer is just me taking a massive leap into where I'd take the story given what we know, ie MM becomes completely disillusioned with law enforcement and is drinking himself to death, and WH is no longer a detective either (I think, yeah?). I don't think he would quit over a task force taking over or anything. He doesn't seem to care THAT much about finishing the case himself. Something happens where he disobeys his superiors like digging in places he's told not to dig.

Again, almost all of this is pure guesswork.

Show keeps topping itself, such excitement and sadness that it ends in 2 weeks.

The level of ass Dt. Hart has access to is too much to be believed. Dude is a middle aged civil servant who is married with kids. If these are the kinds of women he is banging with minimal effort then where do I sign up for the LASP? I'll join tomorrow.

He has a hot wife, so he can get talent. He bangs a girl from work that he probably has seen a lot and he bangs this chick that he has history with. He really isn't going out and pursuing it from what we have been shown.

She tells him it was just to use him because she says she was going to bang the random dude from the bar but she knew Marty would just flinch at that, but he would lose his male ego/pride if it was Rust.

Absolutely loved the camera work in that scene . . . the photos of the dead girls in the background as he talks to her and ****s her, in the most dull apartment possible, ****ing her from behind with clothes still on . . . yeah, real intimate.

Maybe the episode's best line. Shows there is a friendship there or understanding that will never go out. I LoLed.

I also liked the 2 lines Rust say's before exiting the office in two separate scenes:

"I'm not sure if this place is a cover up or your garden variety incompetence"

and

"**** this world".

Just shows the logical conclusion smart, honest people usually reach when they realize the world/society is not some objective academic assignment, but mostly BS.

Also "I'm the only person in this state who doesn't need psychological counseling". Sad part is, as dark as Rust is, that's pretty much true.

if you rewatch the episode 1 he is hanging outside the major's office when marty and rust are discussing the case inside. He is also trailing closely behind Rev. Tuttle, possibly escorting him through the office when he comes to visit later in the episode. Maybe he has something to do with the 'made in error' reports.

Would love your own input on the matter.

Whatever you want to call "time" is still relative to motion when you "measure" it.

Do one workout for 5 minutes a day for a year vs the same exact workout for an hour . . . all other things constant . . . the difference in your biophysical makeup will be a result of those extra 55 "minutes".

Do those 55 minutes happen in a linear fashion? No, but the abstract thing we label "minutes" is relative enough that those extra 55 minutes each day result in a different result, which would not happen in absence of those 55 minutes.

Also, while the write up you sent me is correct, it doesn't account for the paradox of language so to speak . . . the word "illusion" . . . well it has an objective definition and if everything is always "an illusion" then it's not an "illusion" but reality. Ah! You see the paradox, I am sure. But "illusion" is such a catch-all phrase!

An illusion is sometimes, not all the times -- maybe we don't have access to "all the times" -- that is probably very much true -- but the relative nature of time does have a direct correspondence to motion. Otherwise what you call "9am" would not have the same 50 people show up to work on time every single day.

I guess what I am saying in summary is while time does not exist in and of itself, our brains with all their abstract powers of parallel processing have created a relative system which satisfies our day to day interactions.
