The first three seasons were so much better, these new writers are trying way too hard

You may be trying too hard to put it in a position of the greatest and most genius show ever. Just watch and relax without placing grand expectations on every scene.

I'm still enjoying it, but I'm getting weary of how every episode has to out-meta and be more convoluted than the last. It feels like not that long ago they were able to do pretty straightforward narratives with enough room for an A and B plot, that were still complex and hilarious.

It's like if Harmon had started to write every episode of Community as a paintball/pillow fort/the floor is lava episode, or worse yet, it looks like paintball but it turns out that was just an Abed flashback and he's pinned down in the pillow fort, no wait the whole thing was just the Dean having a fever dream about Jeff, no wait actually...

I agree with GMan. Unnecessary complexity means people will quit caring.

Was the train supposed to be a reference to Snowpiercer? (Speaking of which, I saw a commercial for a TV series. While I enjoyed the movie, I don't see how it translates very well into something episodic.)

Kinda comes across like Harmon feels trapped by the shows popularity and is shoving it back in the viewers faces, but thats just my armchair analysis

À good video about the train épisode. Alot is obvious but the épisode was so packed of références that it's helpful and that channel is pretty good so why not shill it a bit
