Watched the first episode of Camping. WTF am I even watching, I have no idea. Felt more like the first 25 minutes of a movie than a TV show. I kinda liked it though, enjoyed everyone hating Jennifer Garner, likely including her husband and child.

I watched the UK version after someone recommended it to me one or two years ago and thought it was pretty funny.

Into the Dark: The Body
A horror anthology series with each episode inspired by a holiday.

The 1st episode/movie on Hulu was a pretty decent Halloween Horror movie. Plenty of stupid stuff in it but overall good.

Thanks for the recommendation.

There are some good ideas, but as a series each story doesn't seem like it can sustain 13 episodes.

The seasons would be better as 6-8 episodes.
I've only seen s1-3 which I enjoyed but I agree a 6-8 episode format would probably be better.

I seem to have gone off TV. Still need to finish off BCS & Ozarks. Nothing seems to be sparking my interest too much. I am looking forward to Fleabag next year though.

im watching the punisher now cuz of you guys. i'm on episode ~5. i like it, but the lead actor really rubs me the wrong way. and dialogue is clumsy and amateurish. but it's still good despite all that! if i liked the actor, i'd probably think it was a great show.

jessica jones season 1 is way the best imo.... though to be fair i haven't watched a lot of daredevil. i think only the first two episodes? i thought it was pretty boring. i'll give it another try though

The Punisher is a mass murderer, not a superhero. You’re not supposed to really “like” the character and they have him rub viewers the wrong way to accomplish that. I would be shocked to hear they didn’t do that on purpose and cast Jon Bernthal because he’s a guy who can pull that off credibly.

FWIW, while obviously not on a Tony Soprano or Walter White level, I think they do a pretty good job with that.

Jessica Jones 2nd half is pure garbage while first half is only great thanks to the comics it is following and a really good casting mostly.
Punisher was better as a whole.

The Rookie is pretty good, the best show of the Fall.
Just ignore the opening scene police action. lol

I had a very hard time taking The Rookie seriously after that opening scene in the bank.

Rest of the episode was solid but a whole lot of ‘been there, done that’ with added body camera footage. Didn’t expect too much and felt mildly entertained but that’s it.

Speaking of low expectations, I also watched The Connors.

At least the opening scene was small town USA and not LAPD.

The Conners was the Nut Low. Probably be cancelled next month.

I put the odds for a cancellation below 10%.

They only received a 10 episode order anyway and the early ratings are OK-ish. 35% below last years opening episode, 4% ahead of the season finale. Pretty steep drop is expected for next week, I probably won’t watch again, but likely not to a degree where you cancel that show. I wouldn’t bet on them coming back for another season though.

ABC deserves for that show to fail. First they bring back Roseanne even though everyone knows what a POS she is, then they pay her off after the expected outcome so they can continue the show. Same goes for people like Sara Gilbert, doesn’t get much more hypocritical than that. If you don’t want to work with a racist, don’t take the pay check for the initial revival.

"When the morning dust settled, The Conners clocked an early 2.3 rating in the 18-49 age bracket and averaged 10.500 million viewers, on track with the Roseanne revival season finale’s 2.5 demo rating and 10.579M total viewers in Live + Same Day stats."

I don't follow these numbers very much but, sure lots of people tuned in yesterday to see how it would play out(with killing off Roseanne) and now it will fall big time next week and beyond. But like you say, if its only 10 episodes anyway then it probably will run out.

4.4 on IMDB with 1100 votes and most people ripping it big time.

Just to put the numbers a little in perspective, if The Conners would drop 50% of its audience next week, they would be on par with the opening episode of The Rookie.

A ratings-wise (somewhat) disappointing first episode was still the most watched series premiere this season, by a healthy margin.

As far as The Rookie goes, odds are that ABCs trend of one-and-done in the Tuesday 10PM time slot continues. For the last 5 years, no show made it longer than one season in that time slot. FWIW, last seasons Kevin (probably) Saves the World started with similar ratings and didn’t end well.

That’s alright if you are 60+.

And obviously that Nathan Fillion quote for the younger audience: "If you don't know me, that's fine. I'm probably a pretty big deal to your mom."

And people complain they don’t make TV shows for old folks anymore..

I mean that’s fine. But that article and your feelings in general seem to not mention Firefly at all which is why I love Nathan Fillion. Sure old ladies love him because he’s a cute 47 year old dude. But I love captain Malcolm Reynolds.
