Yeah. Binged jack Ryan. I enjoyed it. A few extraneous things that I didn’t really care about. But I thought over all it was pretty good.

It’s one of those things that I don’t think I would watch again, but I will definitely watch the next seasons if they continue it.

Amazon sure has marketed the hell out of that show, if nothing else. Wonder why they decided to go all-in on it.

To be clear, I mean I've seen ads for the show EVERYWHERE. Not that the marketing has been particularly good.

I'm about a half hour into the first episode of Jack Ryan and think it's laughably bad. It's just cliche after cliche so far. I really have not been impressed by any of the Prime shows I've tried watching recently.

So.. not really then for Jack Ryan?
I was interested only for Jim Halpert, but if i've seen it 10x before in other tv shows/movies not so interested.

Still only on s2 of the wire though, so im good for the next few weeks.

I'm 2 episodes in and it's not that bad, but boy oh boy the earlier posts were super wrong about Jim being remotely OK in this.

He's wildly miscast to the extent that they sort of forgot to decide what his character is?

He's a rebel who goes around the chain of command, but also a Boy Scout who is too Good For This World, a handsome cool guy who women love and who also knows all the relationship advice, but also an adorkable nerd with no idea how to get a girl, an Analyst Who Writes Reports, but also a badass with a dark history who doesn't need one of the actually interesting characters to tell him how to work a gun.


Everything besides the main character is legitimately good and the action scenes are totally movie quality, but Jesus Christ there's like 40 ****ing minutes of Jim-face an episode.

Also, this is completely not a spoiler, but the show literally starts with the hero having ALREADY DONE A BUNCH OF SPY **** WHERE HE FIGURED OUT TERRORISM, and then the first episode is him blundering around trying to convince people about it? Why wouldn't you show that?

I'm giving it one more episode then I'm rewatching The Night Manager.

OK it doesn't really get any better or any worse but it is totally worth sticking around for the 5th episode.

That episodes contains, bar none, the single stupidest scene of television since the peak Stereogum Walking Dead recap era. It's a towering achievement in being dumb as ****. There were SO MANY PEOPLE involved in making it! So many!

Also this has tremendous, Hollywood-level production values but there is a brief flashback where they had a guy wear a $15 wig from Party City?

OK actually nevermind the show gets legitimately quite bad at the end, Jack Ryan gets fleshed out as a character into a ****ing child who barely understands his own job.

Just watched the first episode of Bodyguard. It's a thriller featuring the specialist protection branch of London's police force. Stars Richard Madden (Rob Stark GOT), Keeley Hawes (Ashes to Ashes, The Missing). It looks very good and it only has 6 episodes so highly doubtful it goes downhill. Gets 8.7 on IMDB. Good stuff people

I was liking Jack Ryan until the third episode and the stupid drone pilot crap.

I don't think I've seen anyone mention Get Shorty. It's about a mobster turned movie producer and stars Chris O'Dowd, Ray Romano, Sean Bridgers and this great actress Lidia Porto. Currently it's on it's second season. Thoroughly enjoying it.

Yea, I have watched all of Get Shorty, its pretty good.

I have a subscription to Epix and I see I have season 1 available Free on demand.

So I finished Jack Ryan...it got better and better each episode....and I think it has potential. Looking forward to season 2 in Moscow!

Half way through it, it's not bad so far, assuming you liked the first season.

That subplot was shoehorned in so badly and the guy they got was ACTING so hard, and then it never even paid off.

Atypical Season 2 is out on Netflix tomorrow. Reviews are very good so far. I think season 1 was one of the better Netflix offerings but it seemed to fly under the radar. The people who did watch it seemed to enjoy it.
