Alcatraz sounds terrible to me, however ill give it a fair chance cos its a Bad Robot production starring Sam Neill and Jorge Garcia.

I think it sounds pretty interesting, but I'm pretty worried about execution, and the whole problem with serialization. In the commercials, I feel like it's going to be kind of like The Event, which is very concerning. If they're using each prisoner as a one off telling a larger story, it could work great as a hybrid serialization. Regardless of whether it sucks, I am definitely looking forward to seeing the Pilot.

Sherlock finale thoughts? Feel like it got away from them a bit. And dragged at the end for sure. Hope they mix it up next season somewhat.

I don't know I really enjoyed it. Andrew Scott (Moriarty) was great.
Spoiler:
Gutted he's dead. Only bit I wasn't too sure about was the end. I don't if it was a type of homage to the fact Conan Doyle kind of killed off Holmes then brought him back due to popular demand. At least it probably means another season. It kind of reminded me of bits of Breaking Bad where they can get away with some ridiculous stuff because the show's just so good.

Also I would have liked it more if they hadn't had the 5min spoiler at the therapist at the beginning.

Does anyone here watch Blue Bloods?

Quick question on this. Im not usually nitty about stuff like this but I need to put this out there to see if I am correct or not.

OK, one of the cops in the show is playing an undercover guy getting close to a family (gangster type family) yet when he isn't doing this he is walking around NYC in the police uniform. Surely this is ******ed as he could be spotted by a member of the family or someone with connections to them. Am I wrong here or is this terrible writing?

No - when you are a Reagan, you fear no man or mob. Plus it's New York, everyone has a dobbelganger to use as an excuse if the mob asks questions.

I liked the Sherlock finale. Zero clue how they are going to write around the ending next season given they need to explain how he faked his death in a way that would stump even Jonathan Creek with zero time to prepare and then there needs to be some way to write him back into the story to get around how he is discredited and dead and wanted for multiple crimes if he were to somehow reveal he faked his death.

My best theory is as dumb and un-Sherlock-like as to be him actually jumping off the roof, actually dying but being saved as he called the pathologist chick and told her to be ready to save him with some others she trusts to try and save him. Which is clearly not the case.

I also think they missed a great chance to have a completely different reveal which has him with Irene Adler that tied into the third season and why he would come back from his faked death.

Moriarty had the perfect episode to end on, him killing himself just so Sherlock couldnt beat him was completely perfect.

Oh and yeah, the ending has been said to be an homage to the book where Sherlock and Moriarty die but Sherlock faked his death as Doyle had to bring him back due to public pressure.

Huh? He had all the time in the world to prepare. Sherlock set the meeting place and he asked the coroner for help (ie; procuring a spare body and later identifying it as Holmes). He even said, "I think I'm going to die". Watch the scene again closely. Watson never sees Holmes' face clearly, either on the ledge or on the ground.

Bicycle collision was almost certainly no accident either.

Yeah, i assumed the bicycle collision was a distraction, but Watson saw Holmes really clearly on the ground and whoever was on the ledge was moving around a lot. It only works if he completely realises the trap that Moriarty set up for him forcing him to kill himself.

isnt this what Sherlock always does? Its pretty clear from his interaction with the doctor that he had a plan. He tells Watson to remain standing in the exact same place so its some kind of illusion and theres a lot of talk in the episode about people being tricked into seeing something they expect to see, all you need to do is plant the seed in their mind. Im guessing he falls into the truck which drives away just as Watson rounds the corner. Watson is then disorientated by the cyclist so when he sees the body the seed is already is planted in his mind that its Sherlocks body when really it is a dead body made to look like Sherlock's.

There was also the drug in the previous episode that altered people's perceptions. The bike courier could have easily slipped Watson a mickey.

Also, the kidnapped girl obviously seemed to think she had seen Sherlock before, which was never really explained. Perhaps there was a double/mask of some sort? Don't really know how they would pull that off realistically.

Worked out the Sherlock ending after getting chance to watch it again.

You see the truck that he jumped into in the frame that had some kind of fall bag, that is how he pulled off the fall without actually doing so.

John then rounds the corner, getting knocked down to provide more time for him to roll out of the truck onto the ground which pulls away, bleeds out with some device and blood he planned ahead with and the coroner chick declares him dead when he goes inside the hospital.

The conversation from earlier in the ep where he says "i need you" was when he set it up and the end was told to him earlier in the series or episode by moriarty but i havent worked out when that was yet.

in the hospital sherlock is playing with a rubber ball

the theory is that he uses that ball under his armpit to fake a no pulse, that and the whole jumping in the truck thing

Ringer returned for the first of the final 3 episodes of season 1 last night.

SMG's haircut is getting worse but I feel the show is picking up a little momentum and might reach a pretty decent end of season climax. It's still got some bad lines and dodgy scenes but I'm hanging in there.

Ha yes, the hair thing was funny but I guess they had to make it easy to tell who's who. The story does get a little overly complicated at times but I'm still enjoying it.

Anyone else watching Mr. D? From Wiki: Mr. D is a Canadian sitcom television series starring comedian Gerry Dee. The show follows the misadventures of a strange schoolteacher named Gerry Duncan ("Mr. D") The series premiere was on CBC on January 9, 2012.

Only now, reading that on Wikipedia, did I learn it's a Canadian show, which is probably enough to explain why there hasn't been a mention of it so far in OOT TV. I regrettably dl the episodes so had no idea as to where it airs.

Anyway, I've enjoyed it thus far. It's somewhat low key and not that inventive but the jokes have been hitting home. Definitely my cup of tea moreso than most new American sitcom premieres I've sat through the past couple years.

The episode before, where there is a clone of Mark running around was awesome as well.
New season of Ugly Americans starts tomorrow, for those who like the show. I'm a fan.

Man vs Wild coming to a close after Bear got fired this week. I haven't seen any new episodes in a while but when this series first came out it was made me interested in exploring the wilds of the world a little bit more.

Bored and need something to watch. I only watch shows after the complete season has aired, so right now I'm basically left with old shows I haven't ever got around to watching. Any of these worth watching:

Suits
The Event
The Cape (lol)
Bored to Death
Caprica
Falling Skies
Leverage
Lie to me
Nikita S2
Shameless S1
Treme
V S2
Warehouse 13

I like Suits and Lie To Me. I'd steer very clear of The Event. You might want to check out Alphas if that's available.
