Ive considered starting a thread for it a couple times but I expect its so damn niche as a Canadian sci fi time travel dystopia terrorism show. Its pretty good though.
I caught the premiere of Perception on TNT. I thought it was OK. Eric McCormack as the professor/consultant is a pretty interesting character. I'll watch it next week.
I also just heard about Continuum and have it on my list to watch.
I might have posted this exact thing ITT before but I've really been enjoying Rev. It is a hulu original comedy about a Church of England minister and his few remaining parishioners
I hope it is as good as the first three seasons, but I think we have canonised AD so much it has so much to live up to and it will be impossible to reach people's expectations.
I have never seen a show exhibit less common sense then what is on my tv right now. We have a deadbeat dad who walked out on his family and decided to get back in his daughter's good graces (who has had limited to no contact with since she was a young child) by having a flash mob sing and dance Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars. Apparently they thought it would be a good idea to kick things off by bringing her in for a father/daughter musical duo performance only to have him call her up and say he can't come. This leads to her crying, not wanting to participate and just starts the whole flash mob scene off on a terrible, terrible foot. This was all decided before hand, but jfc what did you think would happen.
Perhaps my favorite thing was the father's quote, "This is the best thing I could ever do for her." No you jackass, you could have been a father to your daughter. That's probably the "best" thing you could have done.
Just watched the first episode of Political Animals on my DVR that premiered on Sunday night on USA. I thought it was pretty good. Fine summer tv entertainment and it looks pretty intrigueing.
Liked Political Animals. Really liked that it was nothing like USA's other shows. Carla Gugino and James Wolk are always very good.
This was set up as a mini series that could get extended if it did well but the ratings were fairly lackluster so it will probably be 6 and done.
Its got a horrible time slot up against breaking bad and weeds. There aren't a lot of shows I watch right now and a bunch of them seem to air at the same time. I never watch anything when its on though as I DVR everything but it seems like they could have given this a less competitive time slot.
Is anyone still watching Covert Affairs? Am enjoying the new season.
I really liked the first season, then for some reason I never got around to season 2. I think that I might've just got burned out on USA/TNT style shows. Is it good enough to catch up with?
It never got its own thread but a few peeps liked Alphas last year - anyway, it returned last night (or the night before depending on your time zone) and the start of season two was really really strong.
Definitely worth catching for a fairly different take on the whole "people with powers" concept.

There's talk of a second season of Political Animals even with the relatively low ratings. It wasn't a big drop-off from week 1 to week 2.
They need to combine this with Dallas somehow. Cancel Animals and re-cast the brothers as the Ewing brothers on Dallas. Then bring Ellen Burstyn in as Miss Ellie back from the dead or something, and Carla Gugino as a love interest for one of the boys.
