I'm an episode and a half into Kimmy Schmidt and I think it's pretty bad so far. I'm normally pretty forgiving, too. Ellie Kemper is basically playing her character from The Office and Krakowski is playing her character from 30 Rock.

Only three episodes in so far, but this is exactly how I feel... putting it anywhere near 30 Rock level is ridiculous.

I get about one or two chuckles per episode, but the rest is just bad. I had the same thought about Krakowski- they might as well have named the character Jenna.

I thought the same thing through the first two episodes, but now I'm on board. I definitely feel like its a notch below 30 Rock. Jane Krakowski is very miscast. That character should be someone ten years younger. The show is a decent watch though.

Great post CMAR! I didn't and wont see it but that's exactly how I felt after seeing the NCIS New Orleans pilot. CBS just pumps out worse and worse trash every year, utter garbage. Of course this **** all plays well to the masses, sickening.

3 eps in as well on Kimmy. I think it's great for what it is, but not completely for me. I dig a good amount of it, and I love how in charge of itself it is though.

It's a CSI franchise so you expect the script to be written in crayons. But it's complete amateur hour all around. The whole thing makes absolutely no sense - The premise is that whenever a crime involves "electronics" (no, really, they say that) it falls under the jurisdiction of this cybercrime unit. (So... someone leaves a threatening voice mail? Someone shoplifts an Xbox game?)

So their team shows up to do "electronic CSI" - Not that all the other CSI shows didn't have their own magical computers that could do anything from Enhance fifty year old photos to have a database of the blunt force and slicing patterns of every tool ever manufactured.

But... There doesn't seem to be any regular CSI being done - Fingerprints, fibers, et al. I guess that stuff's too old school?

I can see how a pilot maybe gets made ("CSI is still a very recognizable brand and everyone talking about hackers and the Internet. Let's do that!") but how the pilot gets sold and put to series while crime shows like Fargo, True Detective, Hannibal, Rectify and Justified are out there raising the bar is just baffling.

Indeed it is. I would hope after this show and Stalker, hopefully Scorpion crap out, CBS will start to get the picture.

Battle Creek did not improve. Maple syrup racketeering is so LOL implausible. Unfortunately, Kumar's informant was the highlight of the episode.

Not enough there to keep watching for the unintentional comedy.

Episode 10 of Kimmy Schmidt has me howling with laughter, it's too good. This show is going places.

Yeah, I'm out. Not as bad as most network ****, but not really worth watching imo.

Does it get better then the first 3 eps? I have a lot of respect for the show, but it's not really sucking me in like I thought it would. I'll finish it at some point, but not any time soon. I wanted to marathon it, but I've been 1 ep'ing at a time.

Didn't bother with the 2nd ep of Battle Creek.
Dig also didn't make the cut.

It improves but I dunno if it'd worth it if you didn't like the first three eps

I do think it improves up around episodes 8-10, possibly because Krakowski isn't around as much. I was close to quitting around 5-6.

I honestly barely made it through the pilot. I just kept thinking of Elf. Except not as funny. Great to see Carol Kane in so much stuff lately, but Krakowski really did bring the whole thing to a screeching halt. I doubt I'll go back to it.

Stalker is pure trash, but a reasonable guilty pleasure (and if you don't buy that, I watched it because my wife really likes it). A couple huge misteps though - For anyone who watched it: Teasing Ben as a stalker in the first couple episodes and then letting that fizzle was a terrible decision. He should have been a villain. And at first it looked like Beth was setting a trap and luring Perry in (confronting and intimidating him physically, then giving him the opportunity to peep on her [she's hyper aware and lives in a fortress so c'mon]). Would have been much more effective to have her be ruthless enough to set him up and Raylan his ass than turn her into a victim.

Scorpion is just silly and not compelling in any way.

If you're going to marathon KS I recommend ff'ing through the theme song, you don't want that mess stuck in your head!!

The finale for the first season to Togetherness was really great. In fact, the entire season was really good. It's HBO. I wonder why it's not getting that much attention.

We've talked about Togetherness itt a lot, so it's getting some attention here at least. It's a very interesting show. Probably merits its own thread for season 2.

So The Returned show on A&E is the exact same show as the French original but and American version? I was all excited thinking it was the French version on my DTV so I set it to record and then they were speaking English.

French series aired on Sundance channel.

So I finished it all and I probably wouldn't recommend it if it was the only thing I was going to recommend. It would be maybe the 10-15th best network TV comedy imo, which would make it like the 25-30th+ comedy including cable and other mediums. Ellie Kemper looked really hot though
