im pretty desperate for series since i've watched everything. so im trying americans again. im like 4 episodes in to season 1 and it's really just not good.

does it get better?
I basically did the same thing when it aired live. The premise is awesome, the execution is just kinda boring imo. It's a forgettable show.

If that list looks like it doesn't have much in common, I mean:
Lots of action & entertainment, not too serious, while still being a good show, perfect for watching when you just want to enjoy & not think too much.
Mr Robot
Orphan Black

black sails - unlike some series i found black sails gets better n better instead of starting strong finishing mediocre, i found it got better as it went on.

mr.robot - i really like this its about a hacker and other stuff

the beureau - French subtitled in english - very good series (think french homeland)

snowfall - not many talking about this - its narcos/boys n da hood/breaking bad, im really liking it.

Gomorrah - italian mafia/street level drug dealers - quite realistic feel to it really enjoyed it.

Queens Gambit - chess - really good i think its 6 parts maybe 8

100% agree with this. Black Sails might be the most underrated series of the past decade.

+1 on Black Sails. Hannah New and Jessica Parker Kennedy are nice to look at.

Give it a few episodes. It's been called a prequel to Treasure Island, but it's more than that.

Combines characters from that book with actual historical figure from the era, and like was said earlier, each season is better than the one before.

Pirate culture vs British colonialism, slavery, class warfare, treachery.

The character arc of John Silver in and of itself is worth it.

Mayans M.C. is back with Season 3 on Tuesday on FX with 2 episode premiere. It's a good show, especially if you like Sons of Anarchy. 1st 2 seasons are on Hulu now.

The only thing it shares with The West Wing is setting. It has a completely different tone, a serious and social realistic one which is very characteristic of Danish shows.

For those that can find it SS-GB is a pretty good British mini series.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4939950/

"A British homicide detective investigates a murder in a German-occupied England in a parallel universe where the Nazis won World War II. "

Was a very good book and the adaptation is excellent. Lots of intrigue and plot twists.

Nice, sounds great. May binge through this before starting up Money Heist or Gomorrah.

Taskmaster is one of those gems I found through youtube. I struggle a bit with British humour, but the show is delightful and very funny for any non-brits here who haven't seen it.

Just watched Taskmaster S09 tonight. I find it sad that Non-Brits love it. There is so-so much far better stuff that is glossed over because we do 6ep/seasons.

C-rate comedians (we have a lot of top ones in the UK) playing silly games with obvious jokes.

I quit Rectify after the end of S3.

It felt over to me.

They solved the main plot point!

So I wasn't really interested to see what happened next.

I finished S1...liked it but not sure I'll go back.

Felt a little formulaic...huge issue pops up, they figure it out within the episode, resolve the matter, rinse and repeat. There are some longer run themes with respect to her personal life but just didn't grab me

Yes! I was hoping for this news. The show never disappoints making me laugh. It's probably the best comedy currently on network TV and it isn't even a comedy!

I was sad to learn there are only 10 episodes to season 1.
