Season 3 starts on the 16th September.

Probably don't watch the below if you're a spoiler nit. Nothing major, but some info on characters/setting.

Cannot wait for Season 3!

More of Chicago and NY guys though, less Margaret IMO

I always feel like BWE needs less Chicago and NY, and a tighter focus on AC.

Subscribing.

I imagine we'll get a decent amount of Philly this season, since S2 basically ended with Boardy choosing Manny over Jimmy (and I hope we do; William Forsythe is tremendous).

The ending to season 2 was so good. It felt like a punch in the gut but the story will hopefully be better for it. Im excited to see where they go in this season which contrasts to SoA where i dont have any real excitement for that even though the last season was good for the most part.

I loved the last 2 seasons but I dont know why Id tune in now. Jimmy was my fave character and now there's the rest of the cast that has to make up for the absence of Micheal Pitt.

I really just feel like the show is gonna lose waaaaaay to much, from just losing this 1 character. The only other character as pivotal to me is Nuchy but he's a douche so I honestly dont see a reason to care except to see more bloodshed and naked bitches. Im gonna tune in but its like watching a movie and then they kill the main character and ur like wtf is this about now?

Am I the only one who thinks this?

Jimmy was good, but imo the NY plotline is most interesting to me. That is probably because it is the one that I know the most about.

I FINALLY got around to watching S2. And this is exactly how I feel. I felt like I could relate to Jimmy so much and he was really the only character I felt remorse and sympathy for by the end of S2. And just when I think him and Nucky are able to smooth things out... Honestly it was awesome writing and a real gutwrenching moment. You know a show is well done when you feel genuine emotions for characters. However, without Jimmy, I'm not sure why I'll be watching... but I'm sure I will be.

The most intriguing thing for me is seeing what will happen to Van Alden in Chicago. Hopefully he becomes an enforcer for Capone or a rival outfit.

for all the people worrying about where this is gonna go. I'd imagine this season will set up for an insanely epic season 4. The things that happened in 20 and 21 don't compare to the insanity of later in the 20s. We are just getting into that and seeing what the full implications of prohibition were

I feel the same way. Nucky was acting reasonably honourably until he offed Jimmy at the end. Just when you thought things could have been patched up and now he's dead.

If S2 focuses more on the NYC plot line I will be more interested. If it's still the Nucky/Margaret show then it won't hold my attention I fear.

Anyone who says this really doesn't get this show at all. Terrance Winter develops and produces dramas about families. It is relationships - husband/wife, brother/brother, father/son, tons of mother/son - that drive his narrative. It just so happens that those families are involved in crime businesses. This was true with the Sopranos and it's true of Boardwalk Empire. If you're hoping for Margaret to go away in lieu of more time spent on NY or Chicago you should quit watching now, because she is Nucky's family and she is going to continue to be a big part of the picture.
