Or bug eyes about 8 sizes too big.

I do like that Suppan and Looper are 40% of their rotation though.

“I don’t know how anybody could ever be better than he is. Ever,” Wainwright said. “No offense to Henry Aaron and all those guys. I’m sorry, Hank. But Albert Pujols is really, really good.”

He's too young to have pitched to Mr. Bonds. But does Bonds not count because he "cheated"?

Albert making a legit move for triple crown. Running away with HRs, only one back in RBI, and he's picked up about 20 BA points on Ramirez in the last week or so.

a fair question, i ignore the whole cheating theory for simplicity, but bonds was an absolute freak in his MVP years, and by freak i mean his stats even put AP's to shame.

Weird. Wainwright and Bonds were in the league together for a couple years, but apparently they never faced each other. (Also, how did I not know that Bonds and Reggie Jackson are cousins?)

And while I Albert and he is possibly the second best player in the last 30 or so years, he still has a long way to go before he is considered the best Cardinal.

Dear god, yes. A .609 on base percentage? That is unreal.

Also taking my 4 year old to his first Cardinal game this Sunday. Although he seems more excited that we get to ride the Metro to and from the game.

Dear lord... have things changed that much in the last few years? It used to be that you couldn't be paid enough to ride that.

Cool. I haven't been on it in like 10 years so I have no idea what it's like these days. I just used to hate it.

I mean, its not going to make your day, but its not bad. Beats fighting traffic, paying to park, etc etc. The Shrewsbury stop is in between our house and downtown, so not really out of the way. And I kinda doubt we are going to make it through the whole game, so probably not a big wait on the way home.

Plus my son LOVES trains.

I thought the days of 1-0 losses were over. Kinda got robbed though, blown call at the plate. Obviously huge blown opportunity early too with first and third nobody out.

1-0 loss is always tough, but helps a ton to see pinero pitch a great game. Starting rotation has been a bit shaky behind Carp and Waino recently, nice for Pinero to throw a gem. Say what you will about the offense but pitching is going to decide how far we go in the playoffs.

Also put me down for a + vote for the metro link. I always came into town from Columbia. Nothing like parking out west then heading in on the train. Stop by hooters at Central Station then on into Busch Stadium.

I was flipping between our loss, ND-Mich and UCLA-Tennessee. Didn't feel like posting about it. So we're going to lose a series? WTF?

Got Atlanta outta town now its time to get back to winning. And we got just the man on the mound to do it: Todd Wellemeyer!!

Hilarious quote by him from today

"It's been weird, because I've had some really good games," Wellemeyer said. "I've had some bad games. I've had some tough-luck games. But I have three more weeks to show them what I've got.

"I ate up a lot of innings for them, and I got some wins out there. We'll see. Monday is a big day."

Yeah and Joe Thurston has eaten up a lot of ABs and got some hits out there.
