Thought I'd post here to see what everyone's thoughts are on the Deaderick suspension. Sounds like it was by the team and the reason is unknown.

I read the guy was habitually late for meetings and practices. Good riddance I say. If we need another d lineman just scour the arena league, BB will find one.

Don't know if anyone caught it tonight, but "Sound FX: The Best of Bill Belichick" was on the NFL Network tonight. Really a great exposition. It was obvious from the practice footage how much the players respect him, and even Charlie Weiss (from old footage) was deferential to BB as he talked to him. The footage of the pre-SB meeting against the Eagles, where he described the parade route of the Eagles' championship parade and said, "it starts at 11am... if any of you want to attend" was awesome. A shame he is only known as a robot to the national media. bb

Wow, I'd love to see that. Any idea if they are going to re-run it or if it's available on demand some how?

Not sure, but they do re-air a lot of their shows so if you have the channel you can probably find it again. it even contained some great mic'd footage of a (scary) young BB and parcells jawing at each other on the 80s Giants sidelines, pretty good stuff.

Coach Bill Belichick is using the bye week to humble his team. In Wednesday’s film session, Belichick lambasted his players for mistakes, which he spotlighted on the projector. One player said, “Everybody got chewed out,” which proves that simply being 14-2 isn’t good enough.
nice, that's nice

Me either.

So we're rooting for the Jets to win, right?

I think so although I can't say I'll be upset if they're knocked out. I actually think the only team that really scares me in the AFC is the Ravens.

If anyone has any question, just go a few posts back and click KBZ's link of BB miked up for the Indy game. That game was a heart attack. If Peyton doesn't throw the bonehead inty at the end, that game is a loss. And it's not just that game that we seemingly have them put away only to have Manning mount a furious comeback.

So yes put me down for rooting for the Jets to win.

Correct me if I am wrong... If Indy wins AND KC wins, the Pats play KC. If KC wins AND the Jets win, the Pats play the Jets. I would rather see the Pats play KC than play the Jets.

You're right. If the Jets win, they play the Jets. If the Jets lose, they play the winner of the Ravens, Chiefs.

I think the Chiefs is best case but also the least likely. I'm not holding out much hope for them beating the Ravens (although I have to admit I haven't watched KC too much this year).

I think the Belichick thing is on the NFL Network again tonight at 9pm. (At least my cable box thinks it is.)

I'm far more scared of Pittsburgh. They're definitely better than Baltimore. I think if Pitt played in NE today, NE would be less than a TD favorite, but more than a TD fave against Baltimore.

Ryan dogging Brady:

"There's nobody like this guy in the league. Nobody studies like him and all that. I know Brady thinks he does and all that stuff, but I think there's a little more help from Belichick with Brady than there is with Peyton Manning. I mean, [former Colts offensive coordinator] Tom Moore has done a great job with him forever, [Jim] Caldwell and Tony Dungy and things like that, but it's Peyton Manning. That's who it is," he said.

Posted in AFC east thread but I was curious what Pats fans thought as well. Just seems really stupid to say something like this.

this Saturday night I have no idea who to root for!?!? Im so confused!

One one hand, I hate the ****ing Jets, and on the other I hate the ****ing Colts...

I realize the Jets are probably the best matchup for us, but son of a BITCH i dont want to root for the stupid Jets

And Ill obviously watch the game too its just so weird to not be able to tell yet who Ill actually be rooting for.

You are not alone, my friend. And the worst part is, rooting for the Jets and failing gets you (most likely) the Ravens, a team Pats fans are starting to hate just as much as the Jets and Colts. Bottom line - you play in a lot of postseasons and beat a lot of teams, you're going to make and have a lot of enemies. I've decided to just watch the games unfold, and focus on whatever matchup falls into our lap.

I'm in the same boat but I enjoy it this way more. It's a win win on Saturday night. I'll be watching the game, most likely "in game" rooting for the Colts because I can't physically root for the Jets but if the Jets win, I'll be okay with that.

And I know we should be rooting for the easiest team to beat to win but in the back of my mind, I kinda want to play the Ravens if not the Jets. I would love to beat the crap out the Ravens for payback on last year.

Should be a fun weekend nonetheless.

I would love to see round 3 against the Jets,, not to mention the circus atmosphere all week leading up to the game would be a blast, so go J E T S jets.

Aren't the Jets the 6th seed? I don't think we can face them in the 3rd round (conf finals). Am I wrong?
