he later recanted that viewpoint. and offered a, sorta, apology for it.

in general haralobos is right more than anyone, but that doesn't mean he's perfect. he's just the most accurate.

so if he says something, it's worth critiquing and investing, but if you have to trust someone's opinion, his is better than anyone else's.

(aside from mine obv! lol)

some of my thoughts on the wolves:
-derrick williams is a disappointment as both a basketball player but also a human being
-AK47 has been one of my favorite players for the past 10 years. I have loved that man. I hope you all enjoy him.
-altho barea was sensational, this game to me actually exemplified how badly the wolves need rubio back. they can win a few games through quasi smoke and mirrors, but they need a little man making things happen to win consistently
-steamer (celtic product from last year, i have seen like 90%+ of his career minutes) is a real nice addition. moron celtic fans seem to think our backup big situation got better (lol darko) but no, it got much worse. you will appreciate the steamer. tommy compared him to bill russell, fwiw. (which is typical tommy fashion)
-pek didn't have a great line, but i agree that he was the focal point of the defense. he will be more productive when love is back, obv, since he's less keyed on/does a ton more damage

you guys are going to be GOOD this year.

Agreed on Barea in terms of needing Rubio back.

Barea looks fully healthy but he should be coming in to change the game and when he can rape matchups (or is hot ldo). Relying on him likely will produce a bunch of games where we all go "ugh, wtf Barea" lol.

I'd actually like to see them keep running things through Roy if possible until Rubio is back. I think Roy will get into a really good groove and look to facilitate b/c he doesn't have his athleticism any longer.

Steamer vs. Darko - lol at celtics fans who are hoping for anything from Darko. Darko is just awfulawfulawful in terms of actual value. But, he for sure can put up stretches of a few minutes where he smothers some superstar big man with a few blocks, runs the floor, and maybe even dunks it. But then he'll just **** the bed the rest of the game somehow.

For example, on that jump ball, it's like he knew where the ball was going, waited for the right moment to go get it, tipped it to himself and gave us another possession.
C- is fair compared to PEK's own high standard, but a bit light compared to an avg center. As Bobbo says, he was the focal point of the Kings' lolhackdefense.

yeah, AK sees things before others the same way Rubio does. That jump ball was a great example.

That's good to know - thanks, and I do trust your opinion.

Good post - I agree with all that.

yeah, Barea cant be a 40 mpg starter type guy. He's at his best playing 20-25 mpg and coming off the bench. We need Ridnour to help hold down the fort until Rubio comes back.

Roy/Barea and Roy/Ridnour are good backcourt combos because Roy is such a good ball handler & passer, while the shorter guys are sort of like shooting guards. Shved has the potential to be a good combo type G too, but we'll see if he can realize his potential.

loldarko! - all star talent, but has less work ethic than a homeless street bum.

loldarko putting up a solid -30.0 PER so far in 2012-13. We can collectively root for him to turn in the worst PER of all time, I suppose

awesome - if Doc handles him the way Adelman did at the end of last year (as in never put him in the game), that number will hold up.

My plan all along has been to expect not too much from Shved this year, but expect a lot next year and the year after. It's a bit of annoying timing, b/c it'd be nice if he were experienced *right now* with Rubio out and then recovering. But w/e. Rubio needs more NBA experience too as well, he hasn't really played a ton yet still....

Hopefully AK ages well the next 2-3 years, I think that is when this team may start peaking and may have actual title equity.

Yeah, I'm not expecting anything at all from Shved this year. And because of Shved, I have a minor nit about our roster construction. I don't see the need for 4 PG's atm. (JJ, Luke, Lee, Conroy). And, I don't want to see any of our PG's playing SG. If Roy were to miss some games, we're sorta thin in the 2/3 dept (AK47, Chase, Shved)

(Unless they think Lee can play SG??)

Nothing wrong with Luke getting a few minutes at the 2

Next time you think about think about the roster construction of this year's team, think about the roster construction of last year's team, and the year before, and the year before, and so on......

This team has better quality depth at every position than its ever had, and its probably deeper than any team in the league.

yeah, it would have been nice to add Ray Allen or Iggy or even C Lee or someone, but we cant have everything. I think the way things worked out this year was nearly perfect. We dodged some bullets by missing J Crawford, Batum, George Hill, maybe some others I'm forgetting - any of those would have screwed up our salary cap & could have prevented us from getting the guys we got.

Wow, playing sloppy as hell. Officials have made some aids calls too (like the traveling call on Kirilenko that wasn't even close to traveling.)

Live, I thought the traveling call was BS too. Then I rewound the DVR and rewatched and he actually did travel.

Barea mildly concussed, yay. It'd be awesome if we could have our best players, we only have so many.

On the good side, AK47 was the Boss tonight. Pek was beastish on the block in spurts. And, DWill played within himself and rebounded well.

Roy looked slower and more stilted than in the opener. He was really really bad out there tonight.

I couldn't watch the game as it was blacked out on DirecTV? I went to sit down and watch my DVR and both FSN and NBA TV recordings weren't accessible.

Sounds like a crappy game but still.....I am disappoint.

DWil was somewhat better, but still took some dumb shots and made some wild, out of control, drives. He got bailed out on a couple of the wild drives by drawing fouls, but he sucks at making free throws. His defense is just terrible. Bad player.

AK47 is a stud. So is PEK.

Roy tonight - wtf?! 5 TOs in 22 mins and most of them were just awful, careless plays, many of which led to easy fast breaks for TOR.

Ridnour with the dumb play of the game - careless TO then compounding it with a clear path foul. He looks like his back is bothering him. Good thing we have Barea - oh wait....

Conroy looks kinda useless - you're right AJ.

Most of the team played like they were half asleep or hungover or something tonight. Sloppy and not getting after loose balls. We need a lot of guys to play a lot better than they did tonight.

Rubio cant come back soon enough - Zgoda wrote a couple paragraphs yesterday saying Rubio looks really nimble right now and will probably be doing some cutting exercising soon.
