Great game in general. Jones drop sucked and would have eliminated the too close ending.

I've noticed most of the season that McCarthy seems to let up on offense and settle for just trying to run out the clock way too early. Sometimes as early as 5 or 6 mins left in the 3rd when we are only up 7-10 points. He'll start doing Run, Run, pass on inevitable 3rd & 7, Run, Run, etc... more often then not it always seems to allow the other team to get back into the game at the very end. He needs some of the Belichick "I'm up by 21 but **** you anyway" spirit.

I have a question for Packer fans, is there anything that Rodgers does that legit concerns you? Usually even the greats have a weak spot, and I am sure Rodgers does it just seems like he throws perfect throws the vast majority of the game whenever I watch him.

I can def spot weaknesses in this GB team, but none of them lie with the QB, kids a stud.

Occasionally he holds on to the ball too long and when the line is playing bad he often gets a little happy feet going.

And sliding

Yeah Rodgers used to be really bad at it but he's improved a lot.

Packers Bears Championship anyone?

I don't believe they've ever even played a playoff game, at least not in the modern era.

What's the prediction for gb vs atlanta ? I'm a gb fan , but due to work schedule , I only get to see a game or two a season I don't know anything about atlanta , so educate a noob please

And what's the chances the seahawks win at chicago ? That would be good for gb I think .

When you consider GB has had NO running game all season and look at ARod's stats, he's clearly a top QB. He just needs to be more like Peyton and slide whenever a LB is within 5 yards.

Atlanta will be favored, for sure due to home field advantage and the fact that they beat GB a few weeks back. It was a very close game that should have gone OT but our special teams let us down... again. GB can move the ball against Atlanta, but can our defense stop Atlanta and will special teams hold up? The "good" Packers can beat any team, but consistency has not been our strength this season.

Or the last couple honestly . Should I use my " one time " on this game ? Or save it for the next one ? And what's your prediction on the seahawks ousting the bears ?

Bears & Packers have played each other 181 times in the last 90 years, but wow you're right, they've only played each other once in the postseason, in 1941.

This x 1000. That's something that McCarthy really needs to stop doing; the Pack are one of those teams that can dominate on both sides of the ball and still give the opponent a shot to win in the end. It's bit them on the ass before and nearly did today. What a nerve racking final drive. He's got to have some short pass plays for this situation doesn't he? I mean the Eagles knew EXACTLY what was going to happen and the Pack's rushing attack is kind of terrible right now...

Kind of weird he let time run out in the first half rather than attempt to get the 25 yds or so needed to put Crosby in FG range. Unexplainable, if the Pack lose McCarthy definitely would have to answer for that.

I do have to give McCarthy credit for not running that stupid quick lateral throw to the WR off the snap, that play almost never works in general but I don't think I've ever seen the Packers run it successfully, yet McCarthy had been calling it once every game...maybe he's learning.

My impression of the game right now is that it really came down to who got the most breaks, as both teams got screwed over quite a bit. I know the Jones drop is going to be talked about a lot, but Driver also dropped one to start the second half, if he makes it and gets the 1st then the Rodgers fumble that sets up the Eagles quick score may have never happened. On the other hand Akers missing two FGs was pretty damn clutch...

Really hoping the Pack can bring their A-game to Atlanta. IMO ATL isn't really too great for a 1 seed and the Packers definitely has what it takes to beat them. The lines are out and have the Pack as 2 point dogs, which means that they thought PHI actually had a better chance. If we win whoever we play in the NFC Championship game would be pretty epic. Bears would be incredible, can't believe there hasn't been a GB/CHI playoff game in >60 years, gotta think GB would be favored there too. If they play Seattle somehow it would be probably the most bizzare NFC Championship game ever.

Not very high, but both teams have played some awful games this year. The Hawks already won at Chicago this year. Honestly I have no idea what kind of game it's going to be. I can see Seattle winning and I can see them losing by 28. They're beyond projection at this point.

+1 on McCarthy's awful awful play calling with a lead and 5 minutes left in the last quarter. It is mind-bogglingly awful and a big reason why GB loses so many close games.

Also was there any sports media meme more annoying than "this game lifts the playoff game win monkey off Rodger's back blah blah meow chow"? Yeah, before this game he had a 0-1 record as a starter and threw for 420 yards and 4 touchdowns in that game. Soooooooooooooooo dumb.

For whatever reason the media still assumes that we all miss Brett Favre so much and that we're always going to be measuring Rodgers against him at every turn. Favre as it turns out won a few playoff games in his day. The whole thing is just so idiotic; even when Favre had arguably his best season in 2009 we didn't really "miss" the guy as our QB was playing nearly as well.

Wouldn't say scared.. I'm more confident in going into CHI against a known rival that we've payed closely twice and really can't throw too much at us that we havn't seen before, than..

Going to QWEST Field, which is quite the intimidating atmosphere, against a team that really is playing with house money and can score a few points...

BUT

I'd def take either, so let's use Leroy's ONE TIME this week vs ATL and then we can argue about whoever we face in the NFC Championship Game.

-----------

McCarthy, sigh.... if he wins vs ATL, I don't see how they can go out and get an OC to relieve him of play calling, but def. agree to everything said already.

Also, was this Starks game just a one time thing, in all of your opinions, or can we hopefully see 75+ yards from him in ATL?

lol'd at this

unbelievable game by Starks. my dad and I saw Starks play great in Lambeau against Singletary + Co. and have been pretty surprised at his relative lack of touches since then. obviously we'll be seeing a lot more of him now though. Tramon, Woodson, and Clay played outstanding as well. How close is Woodson to the HOF at this point?

I really do love this team. Love the players, love the coaches (save for fatman, but if they squeak out a SB even I wouldn't mind a McCarthy Boulevard somewhere in GB), love the way this team and the situation have made it completely palatable for me to strongly dislike Favre and not think second about it.

Also think this Philly game was just about the best possible outcome for GB. Players played great and McCarthy was able to use JUST enough brain cells to not completely screw us. I think even he will be able to use this game as a bit of a learning experience to correct some of the serious flaws in his coaching (end of the half clock management, playing too conservatively at the end of games). I also hope this finally gives him a chance to correct our punt return philosophy of having Tramon stand close as humanly possible to every bouncing football.

Beating the Bears would be much more satisfying. It would definitely 'revive' the rivalry after all the Favre/Vikings junk. I really like the Packers chances vs either team though. If the Seahawks win then either GB makes the Super Bowl or the 7-9 Seahawks do, which would just be an incredible story and obviously way preferrable to the Bears getting there. Either way this week is gonna be the tough game...

Well, if they give him the amount of touches he got than yes. I think that McCarthy will not do that again against ATL though, he will go back to the RB's getting < 15 carries again.

Plus three attempts a series with 6 minutes left in the 4th up by 5.

I'm not sure if I understand all the James Starks hype. He didn't really break any big runs (just one that was decent) and couldn't get any yardage when the team desperately needed a first down to run out the clock. 4.3 YPC is decent but that's not even league average, is it? Or is the hype just because he's kind of like Ryan Grant and that we have no running game besides?
