Rodgers right now is better than Favre ever was. James Jones redeemed himself too. I was still pissed off at him until he beasted it up tonight. Speaking of JJ, why the **** did they blow that play dead around the 2min warning where it was a copy of the Eagle game bomb sans drop? Seems like a pretty standard offside-free-play situation, and Jones had a couple steps on the defender even before he stopped on the play.
Yeah Tramon really could easily be the story of that game had Rodgers not put up such ridiculous numbers, but yeah that pick-6 was such a killer, especially if GB was to put together another 7-minute TD drive.
I don't know if I necessarily agree with your comment about Favre right now, but it's a good thought. Maybe I romanticize the Super Bowl team too much because I was a kid then and it meant so much to me. Favre in his 3-time MVP days was ridiculous, even if Rodgers has better stats right now. Of course Favre did get the '96 Packers which were ridiculous in so many ways, while the '10 Packers story has mostly been about injury. On the broadcast they mentioned that no team who has lost this many "player-games" to injury has ever done even remotely well.
I mean I find it so funny now that Packer fans 3 years ago were calling for the firing of Ted Thompson and McCarthy for not giving Favre his final shot in GB. God just imagine if he did that and Rodgers bolted for another city (IIRC '08 was the last year of his first contract).
