Now that I've made Diamond on CET maybe I'll pump some money through their machines, if they have some with decent paytables.

It depends on the casino. In many, some game variants participate in the Progressive and others don't. They make it pretty obvious on the pay table, though. The top line(s) of the pay table either have a changing dollar amount, or it will be a standard static payout.

Like in Black Aces 518's photo yesterday, you can see he hit $5693.62 (and the amount would be slowly rolling up in real time). If you're not in the progressive, it'll just say 4000 coins.

At TI, each machine is either on the prog or not, but within a given machine, all variants are on the prog if the machine is. Meaning the machine won't pay $5693 for a royal on Double Double Bonus but $4000 on Jacks or Better.

But there are other machines at TI that were paying $4000 at Double Double Bonus (and on all games on that machine) instead of $5693.

The paytable on the game I was playing returns 97.8% with a $4000 royal, so obviously more than that with a $5900 royal, but dunno how much it impacts it.

EDIT to add: Wizard of Odds says a $5700 royal would boost payback by .75%, so 98.5% was what I was playing on.

If you don't have access to WoO, a quick and dirty rule of thumb is that each extra 1000 coins above the 4000 royal payout adds an extra 0.5% to the return.

Even 98.5 sucks compared to what paytables were like a couple months ago, but with the recent crapifying of paytables by CET and Wynn, it's probably comparable to what everyone has now. I've tried living in the past before, and it never works.

Never tried TDB until coming across this thread and it’s pretty addicting when playing multi-line. Today worked out well though as I hit 40k in jackpots within 15 minutes! (albeit was down 40k but I’ll take being even).

Nice hit. 9/5 TDB at 5$ credits. F'ing casinos. I'm assuming that's Venetian/Palazzo.

He might out-leon leon at 5 buck credits.

Of course the worst thing that could happen to him did - win without having the typical TDB cold streak.

Actually along these lines, does anyone know how much the progressive 5 play and 10 play royals boost payouts?

Eg 5 play at Cosmo worth $30000 on 25 cent credits. But it has to be dealt Royal I believe.

Thanks if you know.

Add about 0.12% for every time the dealt Royal awards an additional value of the standard dealt Royal.

And the dealt royal at cosmo quarter 5 play is 30k? I'd be shocked. It was hit in the last two months at 100k+. That took years to get to. And that was still sub 100% return!

But if it was 30k, then that's 25k more than the standard 5k payout for a 5 line dealt royal, or 5 times more. So add 5 x 0.12% = 0.60% to the crappy 6/5 Bonus (96.87%) or 8/5 DDB (96.79%) payouts.

These games are very difficult to get positive as the house edge is 3%+ before the progressive and the progressive meter is only 0.5% of coin-in.

Ok thanks. I think it’s more like 80k but I can’t recall 100%. Regardless I guess it needs to be over 150k to be worth while.

It's probably more likely that you'd find a winning lottery ticket on the sidewalk than hit a dealt royal.

About 120k is 100% return.

When was the last time you saw it? The five play quarters was hit on May 1st and the jackpot reset to $5000. Ongoing video poker "TR", how long will this last? And that person got it on about the 10th spin of their session. Must be nice!

Pretty sure its less than 1 in 700,000. I was dealt one once, for 4,000 quarters.

Yeah, 1 in 649,740. I have got one; my first Vegas Royal. Playing primarily for "free" drinks though as Vegas basically busted me that trip. Only won $240. Has @Leon got one in this massive thread? I was late to the party here.

Just got my first dealt royal ever (20 years of play).

Probably 95% of my overall play is on multi-line, 10 play to 100 play.

You can probably tell where this is going...

Spoiler:

If this happens on the other machine I play that day, it's $100K. FML.

Earning points for a promotion, and that place has nothing full pay on multi-line.

I believe I've been dealt a royal three times. First was on UX, quarters, 5 lines. I "only" had a 4 and a 3x multiplier working, so 10k.

Second was at the Wynn after playing mostly 5 and 10 lines at 1$ and getting destroyed. Despondently step down to 3 lines, just sort of pressing buttons and not even looking at the screen... bink. Of course. 12k.

Most recent was on that flip and pay machine that will change a suited connected card to a better card if relevant (eg, 10jqk2 suited is a royal), so you pick up extra outs on the deal... and it deals me one outright, no flip. Quarters, 5k.

Never really made a huge score from royals, I've had way better success with dealt premium quads (most recently 30k for 4AWAK). Annoyingly, I had a day at my local recently where I was playing mostly 50-70 lines at quarters and not getting much... move to flip and pay and am dealt 4 aces outright, didn't even need the flip feature. WTF. I'll take it of course, but that was a 3600$ hand where even at 50 lines it figured to be ~ 20k. Ugh.

This was my one and only dealt Royal Unicorn...sequential nonetheless. While awesome, it’s too bad it wasn’t part of a progressive or had some sort of sequential bonus lol. This pretty much kickstarted my degeneracy with VP. Unfortunately, all the early luck I got has now caught up with me.

I’m ready to find a winning lottery ticket on a sidewalk now lol.

Lol. My one dealt royal was on a machine with a 50,000 quarter reversible. So the dealt royal didn't lock the machine up, and what goes through my mind for a second or two was if there was any way to rearrange these cards in order! Lol, obv not.

It was ok though, I had under $100 to my name.

Even though I think I'll never get a dealt royal, I find myself never playing a straight 1 line game any more. I always want multi-line or the possibility of multipliers. I can hardly remember my address but damn if I will ever forget being dealt 4 to a royal and the multiplier kicking up to 10x before the last card was dealt.
