Just seeing that makes me want to play UX.

I now see why being dealt this hand with those multipliers in play could be life changing. I think I might stare at it all day before hitting the button if that happened

Huh?

She was only dealt a single Ace.

That’s my point. She made one monster hand from nothing, and hit for $240k. Imagine if this hand was dealt and was paid multipliers on all three lines. That’s what I meant.

JFC that’s sick. Having two 12x working and then getting dealt trash and just holding an ace annoyedly and ready for the next hand then BAM

No picture this time, but the same lady went back to the same bank of machines last night at Cosmo and won another $35 000 jackpot. Pretty sick run...

That was grossly out of line way to fart up the thread with another terrible one liner

35000$ at 5$ credits, esp UX is no big deal. That's like a 7k hit at 1$ credits. I've done that or better more times than I can count. Gave it back super fast too.

Guess I have just been running insanely bad on UX, $16k coin-in at $0.25 10-line and not a single hand pay so far

Leon,
I know you are a big Barona guy, but I was wondering if you’ve had the occasion to play at Jamul. Probably headed to play some PLO this weekend and wondering if any VP worth playing.

I actually think blackjack competitions are awesome and severely underrated, a ton of strategy involved regarding bet sizing and such

would absolutely love if that became a thing

You want to have the least time taken up between spin, that's basically the only skill. So to be safe, people just mash the button for the session. It can get tiring.

And are the machines programmed to pay more than 100%? So theoretically the more you spin the more you win?

Yes. One tourney i participated i was watching them set up the machines for tourney mode (they were regular igt slots the rest of the time). The payback for the tourney mode was about 2200%. In any slot tourney, you wish slots really paid out like that.

There's the same amount of skill involved as with regular slots... ie, none. Zero edge over anyone else, assuming they all can press the button in time for each spin.

I participated in a VP tournament in 2016 with my dad. Definite edges available in that tourney in terms of playing speed and making correct holds. I loved it (and think my above avg result certainly was related to my play, I never made any big hands) but my dad found it really stressful and observed that most big players also wouldn't like the pressure of having to "play well", under time pressure as well. In thinking about it, he's right. They've never done it since and watching most of these donks play I think they'd rather pony up money in something that's pure luck as opposed to something with skill (where on some level they probably know they're a dog).

Never been to Jamul.
What do you mean by 'correct holds' in a tournament? In a tournament you're not necessarily trying to make the top EV play for that hand.
