But if for some reason you park for more than three days, then "losing" you ticket is indeed the move.
If you do that they will probably magically find the tape showing you coming in 5 days ago. They are freerolling you in this case.

And yet they couldn't figure out how to replace the horrible phrase "Low-quality" with "low-priced".... Slow clap for the overpriced publicist

The specific "Low-quality" phrasing spin on the good old days was most likely intentional. MGM knows that nobody considers low quality dining and lodging as an amenity. The PR spinners do not want to remind people about the low prices they used to enjoy for the same amenities they now pay more for in the current Las Vegas oligopoly.

"The good news is, your first 60 minutes ARE FREE!"

What a ridiculous statement from the video for short-term visitors. The same people could park for much longer than 60 minutes at several other garages on the Strip.

I was wondering about this:

Quote:
Can an M life Guest share their card with another guest or have multiple active cards?

◦M life members are discouraged from sharing duplicate cards for parking benefits. Any unauthorized use of duplicate M life cards to share parking benefits is subject to account deactivation.

◦M life cards will only activate parking gates once within a certain day period. Utilizing multiple cards, especially with friends or family members traveling together, will allow only the first user to open the gate. Subsequent users will be charged for their parking.

I'm hoping that's just really badly worded, otherwise it is severely ****ed up. Effectively, MLife users have no in and out privileges. Hope you don't need to go anywhere more than once a day!

The irony is thick with this one. They're creating a convoluted system out of thin air for the convenience of none of their customers (can you even call us guests anymore?), closing minor loopholes for problems that don't exist, and they are the ones worried about getting taken advantage of. Just LOL! They make it sound like they need to prevent party crashers from breaking and entering rather than making it easier for people to come in and lighten their wallets.

I don't get it; does this mean that as a Mlife member you get the first free but if you travel more than once in a day you pay ?? In other words go to Red Rock and out to a favorite restaurant on two different occasions the second is not covered ?? LOL

OK, asked above but still, freaking mendacious ******'s.

I eagerly await the time a noir customer with a huge theo leaves Aria, goes to Mirage, then attempts to leave Mirage three hours later and the gate won't go up because the card was already used. I hope that exact thing happens every day.

That would be my luck. But in practice, the minimum wage worker they'll have collecting the money won't give a flying you-know-what and will just charge for the three days.

See? It's conveniently right there, it's the line item below the resort fee.

I wonder how long it will take before the first person sees that on his bill and says "damn, that's convenient!"?

It looks like they are already getting angry tweets from guests LOL as more people find out they might be in for a rough ride.

Save for the obvious inconvenience, anything stopping me from parking, coming out 55 mins later, leaving the property, making a U-turn, coming back in the property, getting a new ticket, parking and leaving 55 minutes later?

I go to Vegas about 4-5x a year. Living in SoCal I drive almost all of the time. For long stays having access to a car to go to some local spots and stock up on supplies is key. I used to go once a month before I got hitched.

Nevertheless if you go often and need FREE parking, sign up for a Hyatt Visa card through Chase. While there is a $100 annual fee, you get two free nights at Hyatt the first year and one free night ever year after. And here's the kicker. You become a Hyatt Platinum club member. Hyatt and MGM have a rewards partnership. The Platinum status automatically matches up with my MLife number and I become Gold without spending a dime.

So if you want to Valet or self for free, until they end their partnership, get the card and up your MLife game. One free hotel room a year and Vegas parking is fair for $100.

So yea that's my trick. Last year I almost hit platinum MLife but now I don't even sweat it at all because the benefits have widened.

Just google the card. Now you'll never have to pay for MGM parking.

Yeah Venetian is not what it used to be. Also Caesars is nearby in addition to Wynn.

That's fairly standard in the central business or entertainment district of most major cities in the U.S., so I don't know what's so LOL about it. Hell, the price they're charging is actually cheap compared to hotel parking charges in many of those cities.

The only thing that makes this extraordinary is that it is happening in Las Vegas, a city with a history of cheap accommodations, free drinks, and hotels that would do most anything to lure and entice gamblers to their properties.

First of all, I was referring to major metropolitan areas so that pretty much eliminates Iowa and Oklahoma from the discussion. Secondly, we're talking about hotels in a CBD, not a stand-alone casino or a hotel casino in the middle of nowhere or 25 miles out of town.
