You are right, I thought there are many in LV.
There are several. I've been to Zumanity which I found offensive and Ka which although cool and spectacular I found the story line contrived, confused and pointless. I doubt I'll go to another, but I have heard Mystere and Love are good and I bet the original Las Vegas show (Mystere) is the best.

P.S. See it helps to know a little french.

CDS is the company and not a show. Right now they have 7 shows in Vegas.

Heading out to Vegas this Monday for a couple days. One of my friends traveling with me will be making his first trip to Vegas - he is also an avid poker fan.

Where are the big cash players playing mostly these days? Is Bellagio still the place to go to be pretty sure to see some tv poker pros playing?

We'll only be there Monday night and Tuesday night.

Just out of curiosity, what did you find offensive about Zumanity? I've never seen it, but have considered going. I know it is the "sexy" adult Cirque show. And I've heard its terrible. But is it actually affirmatively offensive? Or it just has boobs?

For example: I recall them asking the audience "Did we make you cum?" over and over again. Maybe I should have said that much of it was repulsive. I did not not find it sexy just sophomoric and crude.

How difficult is it to get into the various Harrahs Pools? If I show my card from say Ballys can I get into the Caesars Pool? How about if I just show my total rewards card?

Hello guys, one of my mate is in Vegas from Saturday evening (tomorrow) to Monday afternoon and he asked me to ask 2+2 for the following:

He has a budget of around 400/500$ for BIs and he is wondering what would be the best/most interesting/best structure tournament he could play for this budget? He also told me he would be maybe doing 2 tournaments for around 250$ each if it sound better...
Thanks in advance guys!

Can someone recommend a hotel for us? We are a group of 6 persons traveling from Europe 19 June and will be in Las Vegas for 2 weeks.

We are mainly going there for EDC 21-24 June. The other 10 days we want to spend time by the pool and party during the night. We are looking for a hotel with a big pool where we have best chances on getting pool chairs. We have been looking at MGM Grand, MGM Signature and Mandalay Bay.

MGM Grand has what ive read a good pool, good prices on the rooms and alot of people that are attending EDC will be staying there.

MGM signature, if I understand correct we get access to MGM grand pool, which is important. The rooms are big, so we can pre party all 6 of us in one room. The negative is that they only come with 1 king size, we would like 2queen. But they do have bedsofas, anyone know how comfortable they are? No cleaning is included.

Mandalay Bay, only thing ive read is that they have the best pool. But it feels like the crowd is a bit older, we are 21-25.

Which of the above would you recommend, or any other suggestions?

Mandalay Bay does indeed have the best pool, and the property as a whole is nicer than the others. It's also a bit farther off the beaten path. Don't think the age of the crowd there vs. the others will be all that different. A lot of people attending EDC will be staying everywhere, it fills up the whole town.

Other places with good pools would be Mirage and Flamingo. Since you're thinking along the lines of the three hotels you mentioned, I'd suggest that Mirage would fit your expectations hotel-wise while Flamingo would not.

I'd agree and although I'm one of the old men on here, I'd still have the same opinion if I was in my 20s.

Just a quick question guys,

I am a casual player that plays poker for fun and to waste some time!

I am usually a Baccarat player.

I was wondering for the 1/2 Holdem in Vegas.

Are the max buyin's 300?

Just want to make sure before I come tomorrow, and wheres a nice location to play?

I will be staying at Vdara but also have a car!

Thanks.

Is there many pool chairs at mirage? Ive stayed at Flamingo during August. We were 4 people and it was pretty hard to to get chairs next to each other.

How much hassle is the location?

Hey! Thanks for the advice. My mate is actually in the final table of the 400$ Deepstack tournament in the Venetian. (Day 2 in a few hours).

Question. If he wins more than 5Kish, he is going to have to pay tax? (IRS I believe it's called) I have read somewhere else that you don't get taxed for your first +5Kish win... And since it's the first time he ever goes to Vegas.... !
So, what will happen? Thanks in advance! 18K$ish for the first, hope he makes it!

Some European countries have tax treaties with the U.S., if he is a citizen of one of them he won't pay any taxes.

The IRS web site says that for this purpose, the U.S. has tax treaties with the following countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom. Note that New Zealand is not on the list.

If you are a resident of one of the listed countries, and you hit a jackpot of $1,200 or more, then you should ask to fill out a form W8BEN. That should reduce, or in most cases, eliminate the withholding.

Even if you are not from one of the listed countries, or don’t fill out the form, you can still get the withholding back by filling out form 1040NR, or the simplified version the 1040NR-EZ.

My own tax accountant is Marissa Chien EA, author of Tax Help for Gamblers . She does an outstanding job, but some might consider her expensive. For a 1040NR she says she charges about $1,000. She adds this form is usually incorrectly filled out by most others. Her e-mail is .

IRS PDF’s:

•1040NR-EZ form (PDF)
•1040NR instructions (PDF)
•1040NR form (PDF)
•W8BEN instructions (PDF)

Marissa is on Twitter at @taxpro4gamblers, where she occasionally answers tax questions to followers.
