No. You can get a cash advance on your credit card at the cashier's cage, or (preferably) at a bank.

a bit off topic but whats the cost of a cab ride from the strip (City Center) to Lotus of Siam and back? Will I have issues hailing a cab back after dining at Lotus of Siam?

Same question for CityCenter to Raku.

Does it make more sense to rent a car if these are likely the only off strip places I am going to?

Also how far is it from the Aria parking to MO if I do decide to rent a car as I don't want to pay the MO's parking fees?

You can afford a room at the MO but not the parking fee? You nit.

Aria's valet is damn near right in front of Mandarin Oriental.

And wouldn't their parking fees be $0 anyway, or are they the only joint in town charging for parking?

I heard the MO parking fee is $30 a night which seems ridiculous considering the free valet at almost all other Vegas properties.

eobmtns, its not so much the affordability of the parking as 1. the principle of the thing and 2. figuring out the optimal choice between renting a car and just cabbing it. If rental + parking + gas is going to cost me $70 a day, then I am just going to cab it everywhere.

Not much (don't remember the exact fare but it wasn't much) and they will call you a cab if there aren't any there.

How warm is it in Vegas in November, what's the temp? Also, if I were to come to Vegas for the entire WSOP. Where could I get the best room rate that is also convenient if I were to stay inside the casinos? I was thinking of getting a room at the Gold Coast and then trying to find a roommate to split the costs with me the whole time. I'm psyched I may come and stay for the whole Series. Although people are telling me I may go broke.

I would be interested in the answer to this also, am coming out on November 5th for just over a week and websites online tell me the avg November temp in Vegas is like 12-15C, but looking on the weather app on my phone, it seems temps are still consistently at or over 30C right now, with less than a month to go.

Is it really going to drop like 20C in 4 weeks?

No. I don't know where you're getting your Vegas climatology info, but that doesn't sound right.

For Oct 7, the average daily high/low is 85/62F (29/17C). Nov 7, it's 71/50 (22/10).

But it's that time of year when any given day can be particularly warm or particularly cold. The Nov 7 record high is 84F, record low is 23F. Sorry, but you have to pack for every kind of weather.

I am going to Vegas at 11 october. I have stayed 5 weeks at the summer at VDARA and had a good run and won like 15.000 on the cashtables. I am planning to stay for 2-3 months and maybe up to 6 months so I am planning to rent an appartment.

My main casino will be Aria and I am planning to rent an appartment there close.
I am interested in looking into an furbished appartment for 2 months. Either Panaroma towers, Veer, Mandarin Oriental and Meridian (Lowrise). I am from Europe so I don't have a creditcard history, but I have enough money on european bank accounts. I need some agent who can show me around. I saw a thread on twoplustwo with some names but can't find it anymore. If someone know where I have to look it would be greatly appreciated. You can send me pm's too.

Tim

How nice, or bad for that matter is America's Best Value Inn located at 167 E. Tropicana Ave? It's really cheap but it may be a dive. What casinos is it located next to? What is it close to? Is it walking distance to the monorail?

god... I've never seen it, but according to the map it looks to be well within walking distance of the MGM grand property. aria is not that far away from the grand, and bellagio is close to that. vennetian is a bit farther and wynn is way down on the other end of town.

the area is okay... careful walking at night, and don't expect the ritz. if you have a car, look on craigslist and hook up with a local room in a house. there are seem to be quite a few poker players here that are by themselves, hook up and share residence with them.

keep reserves for the trip back home, that's all we're saying. the rate of ruin is high.

Nov can be very nice, 80's... winter in vegas surprised me as it can get a little nippy after dark, not chicago cold, but cold for here... mid 30's.

we've already turned the corner for heat this year, so bring a mid level/cold jacket.

No $15,000. He is probably for example French, German, Finish etc where they use . instead of , to denote thousands.

Is it okay to leave luggage at a bell desk if you're not a hotel guest? I'm getting my hair cut at MGM and heading to the airport right after and it would save me a few cab rides.

It's 1/2 mile from the front entrance of MGM to the Christophe Salon...and 1/2 mile back.

Why don't you tell him to take a cab to the M and leave the bag with the bellhop there, and then cab it back to MGM and walk 1/2 mile to his haircut so he doesn't have to carry his bag
.
