I'm stopping in vegas for 4 nights on friday with a friend. Can anyone recommend any activities to do this weekend, or any good house DJs/residents we should go to see while we're here. Currently on a round the world tour so we're not gonna go crazy with cash but not gonna be too conservative either- any recommendations would be appreciated.

I'm trying to decide what would be a better time to come:

Nov. 14 (Wed) - Nov. 18 (Sun)
Nov. 16 (Fri) - Nov. 20 (Tues)

I'd prefer to come down on the 16th, but I don't know if the games will die off that Sunday and Monday as DSE ends and Thanksgiving gets closer. Is there a huge difference? What's my better option here?

Thanks!

What game and stakes do you usually play?

Just 1/2 NLHE; may take a shot at 2/5 or a couple dailies though.

Okay, I think the vegas regulars will probably say that 1/2 and 2/5 don't particularly "die off" during certain times so you shouldn't have any problems. If a particular smaller room seems dead to you, you should be able to hit MGM, Venetian, or one of the other big rooms and have as many 1/2 games as you care for.

I'm on the other side of the world and can't speak authoritatively, so figured I would just make sure you weren't a 40/80 limit O8 player or something like that, where'd you'd probably have a lot more concerns about if your game dies out at certain times of the year.

you're deciding between wed/thurs and mon/tues. wed/thurs will def be busier than mon/tues.

If all you're playing is 1/2NL it makes absolutely no difference what days of the week you're there.

Follow up question:

Which is busier Sunday or Thursday?
I usually go either Wednesday @10pm through Sunday morning or I go Thursday at 10pm and leave Monday morning.

Wynn has a pretty sick deal with code WLVAU4. Includes discounted price plus 2 daily buffet tickets, plus $25 food and drink credit. Booked a suite for Friday-Monday for ~$525 when the going rate was nearly $900. Plus I have 6 buffet tickets for meals.

Edit: I should note that using this offer requires that you prepay and make a non-refundable reservation. May be an issue for some.

Also, about a month or two ago Wynn was comping $3 per hour at most poker games including 1/3 NLH. Check it out if still available.

Is there something wrong with their web sites?

https://www.mlife.com/booking/signupstep1

https://reservations.wynnlasvegas.com/LinkAccount

https://clubgrazie.venetian.com/Pin/NewGuestSetPin.aspx

Not completely sure on that last one, but that looks like it.

Dunno this is the right topic to post this is, but what happened to drais afterhours?
I used to really enjoy this club, but the crowd they let into the club this last friday was horrible. I only saw Pimps, hookers and other sketchy neck/teardrop tattooed folks.

Same question for CityCenter to Raku.

Does it make more sense to rent a car if these are likely the only off strip places I am going to?

Also how far is it from the Aria parking to MO if I do decide to rent a car as I don't want to pay the MO's parking fees?

Take a cab from Venetian or Wynn to go to either to save on cab fare. You can always call the cab like 10 mins before you're done eating, I've seen a couple cabs outside of LOS at night. Make sure you have reservations for Raku. FWIW they will tell you to order almost everything at once b/c it takes a while, and then hey brought out like 7 dishes within 20 minutes which was quite irritating. my favorite Dishes were, the Sea Urchin with salmon roe, apple smoked lamb chop, pork cheek, and raku's tofu. I hadn't eaten tofu for years before that and throughout enjoyed it. Don't skip Monta at some point either which is right next door.

But that means I will have to walk from City Center to Venetian or Wynn right? I mean its doable but if I was under time constraint then taking the cab directly from CC is still preferable right?

with regards to Raku, I mean to dial in the reservation tonight but I had a question, do they allow 1 member of your party to order the 15 course Kaiseki and another to order ala carte and share everything? My fellow diner probably can't handle the 15.

I want to hit Monta but there just aren't enough meals to go around and a really good Ramen place opened in my city recently so I will save it for next time.

I assumed you wee concerned about cost of cab based in your questioning. Take it from CC if u want. I was told you need to have your reservations like 2 days in advance for the special tasting menu, and I'm not even sure you can get a seat the day of, as its pretty small only like 10 tables.

Cost difference between a cab from CC or from Venetian would be about $5.

as long as fare from CC to LOS or CC to Raku is under $25 one way, I'm cabbing it instead of renting a car and everything seems to indicate it is under $25 one way but correct me if I'm wrong.

ok just used this, don't know how accurate but pretty useful

Heading to Vegas for a bachelor party last week of Feb. First time in Vegas for me. I always see people talking about comps or using other 2+2ers comps and was wondering if there was a place to go or ppl to message about getting hooked up. Also, any really good deals for 6-8 people to stay. Obv not looking to spend a ton, but willing to buck up for a good deal.
