Not really sure of the general vibe of some of the more centrally located casinos so if anybody has a recommendation, I'd appreciate it!
Harrah's, Bally's, maybe Flamingo. Never stayed at Flamingo, but ime Harrah's has plenty of vistors of all ages. Bally's also, to some degree, because it seems to be a conventioneers destination.

None of those are cheap because they are in the Central Strip and thus they know they can charge more for people who want to be near/in the big places.

Bellagio is an irritating snobsvill. All the LV shopping is a rip-off but I bet you are an expert there...

In the cheaper places you will be waist deep in drunk 20 somethings: Riviera, O'Sheas, Bill's, Flamingo, Bally's, PH. Depending on what you are going for

Pretty much nailed it imo (except Paris is an evil wasteland for vultures and execs who can't make it in a real casino)

I don't even know if this would work or not, but if I booked two nights at Palazzo at $139 and one night at Venetian for the same rate, would I be able to get the poker room rate for all three nights provided I play the required 6 hours? The website says the total for Mon-Thurs. nights has to be less than $400.

As long as you're averaging 6 hours per day, you get the poker rate. Doesn't matter if it's Venetian or Palazzo. So 18 hours played over the trip gets poker rate for each day.

However! Isn't the weekday poker rate $119? If so it hardly seems worth the effort and obligation to save $20 a night.

A friend may have a hookup for bottle service at PURE at Caesers or LAX at Luxor, any preferences?

LoL "may" have a hookup...Pure is 10x better than LAX. If you actually need a hookup, let me know.

hey i'm planning eating at n9ne in the palms this weekend. last time i ate there (a few years ago) i heard something about being able to get into the clubs (skip line, etc) if you ate there.

while placing a reservation over the phone, i asked them about this and they were kind of vague and said it depended on how busy the clubs were and all that.

has anyone done this? how likely are we to be able to skip the lines? does it cover any cover charges as well (we have 3 guys and 3 girls if it matters)? which clubs does this work for?

Neither of them are going to be great, they're clearly not in the upper tier of clubs right now, but of course that's why "hookups" are more readily found.

The Nine Group owns all of the clubs in the Palms, Moon, Rain, Playboy. It will be a reduced cover for gentleman and free for the ladies, but there will probably be a line. Your best bet it to just buy a bottle.

So I'm thinking of making a trip to Vegas sometime as a working vacation.

I've never played live poker before or stayed in Vegas, what would you recommend as a good first trip length/limit/how much life bankroll per limits/place to stay?

I'm a winning 1/2 player FR online player but I don't crush or anything.

I'm not in town then but just curious...how long does it take to transfer the money on Stars, is it instantaneous?

On another note, I am in town the first week of June. Can anyone tell me if it is worth it to go to the Aria? Or should I just not even bother. I want to check out there poker room and casino but possibly I shouldn't even bother. Any suggestions?

I thought Aria was really nice. Perhaps a little dark inside as a minor criticism. I was impressed with their poker room. Comfy chairs and the tourney I played in was really well run.

the question is quite simple

During the WSOP period, there is a lot a "special events", "series" in big casino such as the venetian (deepstack extravaganza), caesar palace (mega stack series) and so on ..

Are those tournaments a subsitution for the regular daily tournaments, or do they come in addition ?

From my experience, it's a little of both. Just have to check with the poker room in question.

XS is probably #1 right now, but with that you'll definitely be paying top dollar for bottles/tables.

got it, thanks. probably won't do bottle service as we're not that big of ballers, but my friend can apparently get us into other clubs while skipping the line so we'll go that route.

Just thought I'd back this up. I was impressed with the Aria poker room. The only downside was one genuinely terrible dealer with a bad attitude on top -- but the other dealers were great. Tourneys offer good value and they're very tightly run. I'd say check it out for sure.

going to be in vegas in June, my buddy is coming down for a weekend and is a vegas-virgin and wants to do the whole club thing. Not my cup of tea, but whatever.

question is: there's just going to be two of us. is bottle service usually two-bottle minimum most places? is it even recommended to get with only 2 of us?

I'm gonna be out in Vegas June/July and was wondering if any of the locals would be able to point me in the direction of the best Korean BBQ place.

I've been to Vegas a few times but only ever eaten Korean BBQ in California and a few friends who are coming out with me this time want to try.

Many thanks in advance
